I wasn't there, but probably updating that night as I can picture it in my minds eye. It's remarkable how the most innocuous fall can end in a serious injury, but a crash like that and the rider walks away relatively unscathed. I witnessed a horrific incident at Rye House with Tommy Allen hurtling at full speed through the 4th bend fence, just missing a floodlight pylon, ending up about 30ft from the track. We all feared the worst, but he got up almost immediately and walked along the dog track back to the pits.

Luke Bowen smashed into the home straight fence at Somerset last year after picking up drive coming out of the fourth turn, breaking a thigh bone. Pretty sure an air fence wouldn't have covered that part of the track as he ended up lying close to the start/finish line
-
They don't have to cover the entire fence, just the bends

I don't think Adam Roynon is the answer to Rye House's problems. We need a points scorer now, not someone who's feeling his way back

Kasper Lykke was the future, but he's not even attained the average he came in on. From what I've seen he's no Linus, can't gate for a start. That's the minimum required unless you're a Robbo/Auty type, which I'm afraid he's not from what I've seen. Yeah, I'll give him a chance, he's young, enthusistic and still learning the British tracks, but his Danish scores don't suggest he'll amount to much I'm afraid. If Silver had his eyes open we'd have had the Norfolk lad who's pulling up trees at Newcastle Kasper has the rest of the season to convince, otherwise I doubt we'll see him next year if it's a straight choice between him and Luke at reserve, unless Silver has a master stroke and puts Kasper in the main body of the side and signs someone like Jake Knight to partner Simon Lambert at reserve.

Why would he be coming to Rye House last night? Hmmmm.....

Therein lies the problem Paul. I know if at least a dozen regulars who stood by us that never or very rarely come to Rye anymore. In fact they're lost to speedway altogether. Not all to do with the poor results, there's the economics of it too. I hardly see any of the 50 or so that used to travel on the away tour coaches in the mid 2000's. Crowds of over 1,000 were the norm at Rye, now you're lucky to get half that. This has got to impact on the teams budget, so it's becoming a vicious circle that can only end one way

Some of you are missing the point. They BOTH deserve credit for racing with these injuries. Pedersen deserves some of the stick he got for his pathetic laydown last night, but the guy has guts, of that there is no doubt. -

Stop being silly Bit of a difference of opinion in our house. Of course, as an ex Rocket and part of our 2007 PL winning side I watch and support him Tai great interest. My son, on the other hand, will never forgive him for refusing an autograph at the 2007 PLRC. My boy was an impressionable 9 year old then and has never forgiven him. Ben Barker, someone who gets a terrible press, couldn't have been more accommodating, signing our programme and posing for photos. -

Not always. Seen some shockers at Sheffield, Peterborough and Berwick. Depends on the skill and mindset of the riders involved and the quality of the equipment they're using. -

Sun is blazing down over North London. We had a really heavy shower about 90 minutes ago, but I reckon they could've sorted the track out in time for a 7.30pm start if they really wanted to. I shouldn't think they were desperate to get this on with the injury situation and a few free Saturdays ahead -

Sure we were allowed r/r when Frampton quit the day before a meeting. That font is almost impossible to read on a phone. -

Can't think of a number one who could cover for Olly within the budget. You're always taking a risk with guests, but I can't see that they have a choice. Sometimes you're gonna be struggling if there are a few PL meetings on at the same time and choices are limited -

No draught beer and the side in tatters... Rough times at Rye House. -
"Robert Mear has announced that he's taking a break from racing". I thought he'd done that weeks ago!
