  1. It was Bristol. Lucky I had an atlas on the back seat, so I could plot a route through the city centre, cos B4E has absolutely no sense of direction. I hope to be asleep by the time we hit the M4 this time
  2. Haven't checked the paperwork, but I guess the restraining order has run it's course. Loads of rain on Friday, but looking good for Saturday http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2646807
  3. It'll be a happy journey home if they do. Nothing worse than a long journey home with B4E when the Bandits lose!
  4. Only has one bike I'm told. Possible for next year if he's interested in a PL comeback
  5. Don't know much about Aspgren to be honest
  6. Indeed...http://www.hertfordshiremercury.co.uk/Sport/Speedway/Aspgren-to-Join-Rockets-20130627154049.htm
  7. Pretty sure I read Grajczonek guesting at Newcastle for Rye. Doolan only dropped a couple of points from memory when he was last at Rye in the league with Redcar last year. Haven't had the food at Rye for a couple of years, but people tell me the standard have dropped in the chip bar. Was a terrific meeting in the LC. Always enjoy watching Doyle race. Somerset to nick it by 2-4 points.
  8. Remember Woffy Snr breaking a collarbone in the Poole match? His second ride I think. Remember we lost 38-40 to eventual champions Poole, but we hammered Edinburgh (including a young Mark Burrows) by 30 odd. Silver, Garrad, Mullarkey, Woffinden, Stevens, Rolls, Brice. Think that was the line up. The programme is somewhere in the garage!
  9. I agree. £20 is excellent value. My first ever live speedway meeting was a double header at Rye House, v Poole & Edinburgh in 1985
  10. Kasper Lykke is looking for a lift from Denmark and a mechanic for Friday!!
  11. In 2005 I'm guessing *EDIT* Just dug out my 2006 yearbook. Away wins at Hull 10/8/05 (46-44) and Stoke 17/8/05 (49-46)
  12. Was hoping for more than 3 points from him and only finishing ahead of Ben Morely and Jason Bunyan. A real let down and cost us a point at least.
  13. Indeed. She's suffered many an away trip with me following the Rockets over the years, so fair dues. Could be the makings of a decent match if the Bandits are firing. The added bonus of seeing Kasper race will make it worthwhile. Some of the friendliest speedway fans I've encountered at Plymouth. I'm prepared to suffer the moods coming back should the Bandits lose, I'm used to that, but that'll be nothing compared to the fury should the actually win and we didn't go!!
  14. Making the 500 mile round trip just to keep the other half happy. Leaving after work at 1.30pm and racing home after for a quick 3 hours sleep before rising for work on Saturday morning at 5am... Marvellous Kasper Lykke guests in place of Nicki Barrett http://www.berwickba...plymouth-devils
  15. The lack of communication between the promotion and the fans is pathetic. Just another instance of them taking us for granted. Meanwhile the attendances dwindle by the week.
  16. He was terrible for Plymouth this year and cost us a point at Berwick last time with a pathetic performance. Too unreliable, no thanks
  17. Your suspicion was correct. About the only thing you've got right so far. Well done! If I did want a moan I would be within my rights as a paying customer, not from the comfort of my armchair I can't remember the recent meeting on Sky where he was constantly pulled up by the ref for jumping at the at the start, one of them was very harsh. Can't say I noticed him doing it last night, It was more Henry and Ritchie Worrall from memory.
  18. Well done Berwick, good win. That's my early night sorted then
  19. You know me Sid. Bitch and moan like hell, but back the next week for more... Already planned my visits to Redcar & Scunthorpe in a couple of weeks. Not expecting much, but you never know.... I may have been a little harsh on Simon in the heat of the moment after a disappointing defeat. He just looks so awkward and so unsuited to the Rye House track. A baffling signing
  20. I respect your right to an opinion, but don't respect your opinion. Is that better?
  21. From the comfort of your armchair, brilliant! Real fans feel the pain of defeat as well as the sweet smell of victory. I've been there for the good days as well as the bad, so I've had experience of both. Been there when we've lost by 30+ points at home as well as witnessing some heavy defeats away. All forgotten the next day and looking forward to the next meeting. Pleased to see Nelson back in the points and looking competetive again. Couple of blips when he looked like he expected the ref to call them back in heat 5 and looked like he laid it down in heat 13 when Auty locked up, but he was well adrift of the leaders by then anyway. Puzzled as to how Robbo has learned to gate. Couldn't buy a start when he was with us in 2005/6. Perhaps he could give Kasper a few lessons
  22. Hope I catch him on one of his bad days when we visit in August
