I missed the Dream Team at Rye earlier this year, but was thoroughly entertained at Lakeside by the American touring side ... Hopefully a return to Rye House is in the schedule.

In a few years time, when young Mr Bjerre is one of the top riders in the world, you can say you had the pleasure of seeing him close up every week, if only for a couple of years. Good result for the Cobras ... Didn't expect that

Not been able to post 'cos my PC has been buggered for almost two weeks ... Had to visit a local internet cafe to post this That was one of the most boring afternoons of speedway I've had the misfortune to attend. I can't think of anything positive to say about it ... After years of defending the Rye House track It's pretty clear that it's not able to stand up to 25 heats of speedway ... The track had no water put down on it from when I arrived around mid-day until after the first heat as far as I could see. At other tracks I've attended the track is worked on until around 15 minutes from the start ... Oh, how I'm looking forward to this weekends double header with Newport, or perhaps I'll just stay in and watch the Nordic GP instead!!

I thought I heard Craig announce 11am. I've been looking forward to this meeting since it was announced... Hopefully the track will be in tip top condition, but as anyone who's attended an afternoon meeting at Rye knows, it very rarely is.

I didn't know that Tamworth were known as the Saxons. Wasn't that Hastings? I can only remember them as the Hounds or Tammies *edit* Just had a peek in a reference book.. Tamworth closed to speedway in 1950!!! Tamworth Speedway

Unfortunately the track closed well before I became interested in speedway... Are there any photographs of the track, especially over head shots, available?

Probably the correct decision after all the huffing and puffing from various corners... Won't make a difference to the outcome of the National League title as key injuries to the Cobras side and the loss of the points vs Mildenhall have more or less ended any hopes of the title.
