  1. Any idea when the draw is made for riding order?
  2. I'm sure I saw him ride at Rye House two or three years ago
  3. Hmmm... Saturday night double headers, not keen
  4. Scarboro has signed up for the rest of the season.
  5. Terrible news for our new signing Joe... The Cobras run of bad luck with injuries goes on and on. You should've offered old Jim a backhander... After all, it works for the moanarchs
  6. Jonnie Hoskins was born in New Zealand. About as far away from Scotland as it's possible to be!!
  7. Unless you become a top class speedway ref in double quick time, but then they wouldn't use a British ref for the British GP would they?
  8. I didn't know that Tamworth were known as the Saxons. Wasn't that Hastings? I can only remember them as the Hounds or Tammies *edit* Just had a peek in a reference book.. Tamworth closed to speedway in 1950!!! Tamworth Speedway
  9. Unfortunately the track closed well before I became interested in speedway... Are there any photographs of the track, especially over head shots, available?
  10. Probably the correct decision after all the huffing and puffing from various corners... Won't make a difference to the outcome of the National League title as key injuries to the Cobras side and the loss of the points vs Mildenhall have more or less ended any hopes of the title. See ya next year Tyson
  11. Welcome to the forum Mary :D

  12. Good to see that Joe Jacobs has been snapped up already Joe Jacobs joins the Cobras
  13. Greetings Last Saturday Bandits4Eva and myself decided to take a trip to the Berwick Bandits old stadium at Berrington Lough... This was my second attempt to find it, the last being last November when hopelessly unprepared I spent a fruitless afternoon driving down various country lanes while B4E was in the hairdressers... This time armed with an image in my head courtesy of Google Maps and a rough idea where I was going I succeeded. Here are a selection of photographs.. Apologies for the poor quality due to the 2.0 mega pixel camera on my 4 year old Sony Ericsson mobile phone Photos from Berrington Lough Here are directions for those travelling fans visiting Berwick who may want to take a look for themselves From Berwick: Take the A1 south Take the turning signposted B6525 Wooler You'll pass through the small village of Ancroft after about a mile and a half. After around another mile there is a narrow unmarked country lane on the right with a small letter box on the corner... Turn up this narrow lane which is approximately 10 feet wide. Keep on up the lane, passing a driveway with a the stone sign "Berrington Law", until you see a blue gate on your right just before the lane bends sharply to the left. There is a house on the corner of the bend. The blue gate is the entrance to the stadium and was padlocked shut when we visited. The land is private, so you'll be entering without permission, but if you feel brave, climb over the gate and walk the 400 or so yards down the rough gravel road that bends to the right half way down... This will bring you to the remains of Berrington Lough Stadium. There are more photos on the excellent website www.defunctspeedway.co.uk It's hard to believe that the stadium hosted top flight British Speedway for a season with such riders as Nilsen, Tatum, Ermolenko and Nielsen riding round the tiny track!! If you visit in the summer months and don't like flying insects then this probably isn't for you!! Best of luck
  14. Yep, only U21 meetings so far... Len Silver said an air fence at Rye would ruin the view for a large number of the crowd... The Rye House catch fence does a fine job
  15. Haven't had an air fence at Rye House for the 2 FIM meetings held there
  16. You can't go round saying things like that and upsetting the Kings Lynn supporters... They have enough probelms as it is
  17. I'd love to know where these people usually watch their speedway!!... I'm on the edge of my seat here
  18. It's the occasion more that the result Bruno you're spot on... I couldn't care less if a GB rider won each race by the length of the straight, as long as they get through tonight, because I think they may struggle on Thursday. Bugs stopped play?
  19. Cor!!! you lot are hard to please... Why don't you switch over and watch something else instead?
  20. Can't see why Shane was excluded in heat 2... Ok, he slightly locked up coming out of the second bend, but in the recent Rockets vs Monarchs PL match Matthew Whethers locked up in the same place in heat 15 causing the closely following Jordan Frampton to fall... Frampton was excluded... Almost identical incidents with two different conclusions... Do the referees have a special coin they toss to help make their decisions or is there some logic involved?
  21. Playing cricket with my son far outweighs anything that may or may not happen to Rye House... Unlike some, speedway is quite low on my list of priorities at the moment
