  1. I was right under the refs box. Chris Gay was on the phone to the pits pretty much the entire time from when he didn't allow Palm Tofts inclusion in heat 15 to when Bates appeared on the track. No announcement was made. I certainly didn't hear Lewis Kerrs name announced. Like B4e, I thought it was a delaying tactic to allow Bates and his mechanic a little more time to get ready. It failed miserably. Like some other posters, I'm mystified why the rule exists in the first place
  2. I was under the impression you couldn't guest for two different teams at a track within 8 days. As Bates was riding for his team Sheffield last week he was eligible to guest last night. I'm prepared to be corrected. What should've been a cracker was spoiled by the endless reruns and various delays. Battling performances from both teams. Sad to see Cameron Heeps down to the bare bones with his equipment. The heat 15 farce spiced it up a bit.
  3. Talk of the devil, he's made an appearance. Already staring up at the refs box!!
  4. Yes, they do I think the old guy you're thinking of hasn't been to Rye for weeks I dunno what you've been told, but I don't bite, only on here!
  5. ROCKETS 1. Edward Kennett 2. Kasper Lykke 3. Cameron Heeps 4. Leigh Lanham 5. Stuart Robson 6. Rob Branford 7. Ben Morley SCUNTHORPE 1. Thomas Jorgensen (guest) 2. Michael Palm Toft 3. Lewis Kerr 4. Fritz Wallner 5. Ryan Douglas 6. Josh Bates (guest) 7. Nathan Stoneman (guest) The last Premier League meeting at Rye this year. Personally I think we're gonna be tested. Hopefully we'll have enough firepower to gain the win so that we finish above the Bandits.
  6. Yep, no hold ups. The meeting ran smoothly.
  7. Straightforward win for the Raiders. IOW providing only one heat winner, Nathan Stoneman. Would've been two if Stoneman hadn't fallen on the last bend of heat 2 when comfortably ahead. Fair play to the dozen or so Warrior fans who made the trip. Pretty poor turnout.
  8. Just had his last programmed race in heat 10 . He'll have about 2 and a half hours to get from Arlington to Rye House. Can be done in 2 hours according to Google Maps IF the Dartford Tunnel traffic is kind and he keeps within the speed limits. Should be ok. *EDIT*Well, Eastbourne decided to use him as RR in heat 13, so that gives him around 2 hours 15 minutes to get here. He's in heat 1 too. Good luck!
  9. 6pm is better than the 2pm starts we used to have for Sunday meetings. Those of us with families can have a proper Sunday out, then pop along to the speedway. Not everyone has a Saturday off. For some this is the only day of the week we can get to do family stuff.
  10. Is that true? I'll be giving that a go next year. Booked in advance only?
  11. Great win for the Rockets. A home win against Scunthorpe ensures we finish above Berwick!!
  12. Both. It'd look pretty bad if he cried off injured tonight, but rode for Lakeside tomorrow The official Rye Twitter page hasn't been updated since 13th April
  13. Sheffield look an all round better team than Peterborough with their two crap reserves and Richard Hall doing a poor impersonation of a speedway rider. Only going on what we heard announced.
  14. Absolute bolloxios in this case. I can't think of any reason why Branford shouldn't have replaced Morley in heat 14, unless his bike wasn't ready. A savvy team manager would've made Morley miss the 2 minutes giving Branford time to sort out any issues.
