  1. Oh blimey, I forgot about the tactical ride!I always thought 10 points was too low in the old Premier League, especially now you get a point for losing by 6 or less. Get an 8-1 in the tactical race and all of a sudden you could be only 3 points behind. I think 14 is a fairer losing margin to allow a tactical ride.
  2. Really? I must've missed that one. How's that gonna work?
  3. Pretty much as I had the 1-5, but with Harris & Watt swapped
  4. What happens if they're in the promotion/relegation play off at the end of the season, lose on purpose?
  5. First season of top flight racing and a promotion relatively new to speedway. They should be applauded for taking the risk financially. Going for experience in your first season is key in my opinion. The top five will know all of the tracks (bar Somerset and perhaps Belle Vue if you want to be picky) very well. Rather surprised the ambitious Glasgow backers weren't interested in stepping up, but I s'pose they're content being a big fish in a small pond. Now Somerset are out of the way, they have one less "big fish" to worry about. There weren't many Rye fans I know who were overly keen on the step up to the top division, but with the new dumbed down Premiership it's a relatively small step. You never know unless you try.
  6. Reserves are likely to stay there all season unless one, or both have a great year and Robbo/Watt have stinkers. That's my greatest concern
  7. People harping on about heats 13 & 15 tend to overlook there are many heats where they'll come up against lesser riders. The likes of Doyle can only have 5 rides maximum. Even if he wins every race, it doesn't guarantee his team mates will be able to back him up
  8. Ahhh, right. I must've missed that. Cheers for updating
  9. Sorry Gaz, I'm not up to speed. Was there a falling out?
  10. It's not watered down if you're a Rye House regular. It's a step up. Also, the admission at Rye has been the same for 3 or 4 years
  11. How can you say that before seeing who everyone else has signed? He'll be fifth in the averages, not a heat leader.
  12. Is that definitely happening at Lakeside? If so, Morley a shoe in for the number 1 spot
  13. To put it into perspective, Leigh Lanham was our fourth averaged rider at the start of last season
  14. Chris Evans would put many off going. Craig Saul does a great job and a nice bloke to boot
  15. Watt likely to be the 4th average rider, not competing for a heat leader place, so less pressure on him. If his heads on he could be the trump card.
  16. Will we be seeing you at Rye now Lakeside has gone down the tubes Vinny?
  17. I'm not getting carried away until I see the final line ups of all the teams, including ours. Some people on Rye FB talking of play offs and even the league title. It's way too early to even think about that. A season of consolidation will do me.
  18. I'm telling you now. Rye will not be signing Jason Garrity The problem at Rye last year was that we'd signed a rider we couldn't get rid of when it was clear he wasn't up to the task
  19. An ice cream van during the summer meetings
  20. Take the lot and move it to Berwick please
  21. Branford and Robbo saved us from an absolute tonking that day.
