Handy that this thread has reappeared, because I have a couple of questions about travelling outside Prague. Obviously using public transport around Prague is super-simple, but I'm planning on getting a bus to Mladá Boleslav, where the Skoda factory and museum are. Are the buses reliable around the rest of the country? Am I likely to get off into a strange world where nobody speaks a word of English?

People worrying about hotel prices going up, and saying 2009 will be their last year etc. should remember that come 2010 Newport will have an absolute glut of hotels which are all being erected for the Ryder Cup. I can't imagine there being much call for them at any other time so would think it could be quite possible to get the rooms for a reasonable price.

There is no Travelodge/Inn near Walkabout in Newport.

It is a good 7 miles (as the crow flies) from Redwick to the centre of Newport where Walkabout is located.

The cinema right opposite Walkabout is changing into a Travel Inn. I'm not sure whether it will be open by June, or whether the carpark you mention will then change to offer longer term parking (which would be sensible with a Travel Inn next door). <Edit>It actually going to be a Travelodge, and it doesn't look like it will be finished until Christmas. Sorry.

While I have never used TP, and probably never will, I don't see that their profit margin is anything to do with you or anyone else other than those connected with the company. As long as there are people willing to pay for their trips, TP can charge whatever they like.
