Another busy weekend for the Comets when this Friday night the Newcastle Diamonds are back at Derwent Park in this Koc 2nd leg quarter final. At the time of writing its still in doubt whether Ty Proctor will be fit for the Comets, the last time Newcastle were at Derwent Park the Comets racked up a massive score but the racing was still good, lets hope for something similar, also a good send off to Stuart Robson a fine servant to British Speedway. If we progress in both competitions this weekend then the fixture list will become very chaotic, with Play off fixtures and the outstanding Lakeside meeting still to run...………..weather permitting!!

Slick presentation has improved at Workington this season but the debacle of the fixture list is just one thing the BSPA continually get wrong. Many small improvements in presentation and promotion that do not cost a fortune are so often over looked.

Would be a great shame if Derwent Park was to be demolished , it is one of the best stadiums in the country for viewing Speedway and the track if prepared well (which it usually is) provides a great racing strip. This is provided there is a promoter willing to run the Speedway in 2019.

Probably true, would make sense, Peterborough recently beat at Derwent Park too. So Worky v Glasgow...………. 5th and 6th of October was the rumour? Panthers v Comets final.

Still possible but there are some strong teams out there, Peterborough will never be that weak again I doubt, Glasgow have some big hitters in their team, Lakeside may be not the same team having had to move to Rye House and lost a little home advantage.. Its still all to play for and very wide open, hopefully Ty Proctor will be fit again soon.

At Workington the biggest low, the sickening crash that ended Dan Bewleys season. The high........hopefully it’s still to come!!

Hmmm, said in todays SS its Barker guesting for Dan and probably r/r for Ty Proctor. All change them.

So with the Lakeside meeting now not taking place before the cut off date this is the last chance the Comets have of getting some League points at home. The Panthers side will be no push overs even with their injury worries, ill go for 48-42. I,m still not sure if Ty Proctor will be fit for this match but does not look good at the time of posting. The weather.....ahh, BBC forecast says sunny with showers all day until 6:00pm

Confirmed on the SGP website that Dudek has broken his arm riding in Sweden.

Agree about the medical cover it seems to be a growing problem at some tracks.
