Speedway of Nations 2024
IainB replied to a4poster's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Assuming we're not going back to Cardiff... where else in the UK could a GP be held? And who would stage it? Mr Tolley at the Alexander Stadium? Mr Tolley, I have some magic beans to sell you! -

Don't forget the rusky riders gave the meeting a miss when they could ride for Russia, something to do with money, so there's no way they are going to do it now -

This is part of the narrative being pushed by the club but the team was complete on Jan the 22nd and the announcement that they were "competing" in the PL was made on the 17th of November. -

Got lucky with the weather in the end, there was a dirty great black cloud bearing down on the stadium but it just missed us. Meeting was Ebdoned through to heat 17 when it was all decided. -

No point in giving out warnings of you're not going to enforce them... who's the ref, do we know? -

Janowski should have been thrown out of that, was on a warning and moved again -

Like Ukraine? Maybe they should just walk into the pits and push them out of their pit bays. -

Crowd on a par with a Eurosport league meeting against Birmingham or King'sLynn, on a damp night... better than Wroclaw last year though Track looks on the grippy side -

No surprise there, there's now forecast to be a weather window until big rain is due to hit at around 21:30 to 22:00, let's hope there's no faffing about! -

Look on the bright side... If there is one track in the UK that can take the rain and then produce a raceable track afterwards it's the NSS. -

Any rain is forecast to clear around 3, I would imagine practice would be canceled and the track will be very, very, very, very grippy tonight, which doesn't make for great Speedway around the NSS, may throw a surprise though? -
You must never forget this!

A nice cheap pay day for Tolley, which I'm sure has absolutely nothing to do with it being called off. -

It was barely any rain, the track just needed a grade, the riders were out for heat 10 but Birmingham pulled the plug, Oxford were ready to carry on. -

Birmingham seemed a bit too eager to call that one off! I wonder why? -

It just goes from bad to worse for Brummies... no doubt the excuses will be coming thick and fast from Tolley but to be at heat 10 having not used your tac sub when it's in danger of being called off is ridiculous. -

Although he had to stand down latterly, did he not come back to announce the final race at Peterborough? Always used to build the tension when reading out the race result of a close finish while everybody around me had their pens hovering above their programme's
