  1. I've looked through the 2024 fixtures several times and can't see this fixture anywhere... I'm sure it's just a simple oversight
  2. Actually, last time i went to Birmingham speedway there was a young Muslim family in attendance... something I've never seen before!
  3. yeah, I was looking at their website last year when I was thinking of heading over and it just says a 4 hour limit for shoppers, same as at Leicester, so as long as you're in and out within the 4 hours you should be good with the ANPR cameras
  4. Can't you park at the one stop shopping centre? Isn't it like the Beaumont Leys parking limited to 4 hours?
  5. Interesting... who knew the courts were sitting on Boxing Day
  6. There only seems to be a limited few blocks available at £20... who knows where you'll end up after being moved last year. I'll wait until nearer the time for a better selection of blocks/seats
  7. They did one at Milton Keynes for at least one year as well
  8. On the face of it that's an excellent decision, I'll definitely attend when it's held at the weekend but unlikely to do so on a Monday night... it'll be interesting to see if Woffy rides in it
  9. Well, I for one will be more inclined to go over a few times during the season as a "neutral" when the weather is nice, probably the same with Oxford now they're in the PL. Whether that'll be enough to keep Birmingham going I don't know, certainly hope so!
  10. The difference is Oxford had the crowds due to the feel good factor of a club returning from the ashes. Birmingham have been on a downward trend for the last few years. No doubt their fans will be grateful to have some speedway to watch but there just isn't enough of them, there wasn't enough of them at CL level they'll no doubt get some Wolves punters but will that be enough? They've only gone PL due to the self administered straight jacket that British Speedway has put in itself in with race nights. Surely some kind of special dispensation could have been allowed to enable Birmingham to compete in the CL. No, instead we've got the unbelievable situation of Oxford having (?) to run in 3 leagues, I presume, to act as an insurance to keep the PL at 6 teams, should Birmingham go under midway through the season, to fulfil the TV contract obligations... I can think of no other reason for Oxford to be running 3 leagues?!?
  11. around 17.5 left for 2 riders then... there's the possibility for a for a potentially great side there, let's hope they can do it
  12. I'm sorry to say, I expect closure mid season. Like the last couple of seasons, the team they have come up with is beyond a joke and clearly not competitive. They've still got over 15 and a half points to play with and that's assuming Lampart comes in on 7! I do hope I'm wrong and they pull a couple of big signings out of the hat
  13. I used to enjoy them, I think Sheffield put one on once too. These days though most, so called, promoters won't put anything on other than a league match. They won't even hold international test matches, so no chance of a Christmas/NY meeting
  14. Perhaps he should get a job as a carer or a fruit picker or something like that if he can't get on with what he's doing, there's plenty of vacancies apparently. There's millions of people in this country who have to get up and go to a job they hate every single morning, and he can't be bothered sometimes to do something he allegedly loves!
  15. I know he said he might have to reverse his decision if no Polish club came for him, I take it he's not riding in Poland next year then?
  16. Has Picko reversed his decision? Or is that what Edinburgh are banking on?
  17. Who are the big dogs left for Edinburgh, Scunny, Worky & Plymouth to sign?
  18. Perhaps this is where Swindon Speedway's new ground will be... where is midway between Swindon and Torquay, Yeovil? They already have a quite famous football club, how about Glastonbury? The Glastonbury Druids?
  19. The BL has a lot to offer, a half decent pay packet and virtually zero pressure, that's why I believe a lot of riders have returned, it seems to be more "fun" over here, which is what most got into the sport for in the first place. Fortunately DSE are doing their level best to destroy the GP series and that can only be a good thing for league Speedway in the UK. Magic has returned for next season and I fully expect him to excel in a pressure free environment. The TV money that clubs get in the top league, I am led to believe, should go a long long way to covering the expense of a Number 1, Birmingham may be using that money to subsidise their (possibly) suicidal move back into the top league.
  20. It's how you go about getting that wooden spoon though, it could go down to the last match of the season still being in with a chance of making the play offs... or you could secure it by June, at the moment it looks like the latter, surely the alarm bells must be ringing without the signing of a Number 1 yet, when all the other teams have their's and some have 2 number 1's. I can't imagine why the promotion would not have named him already unless there were serious issues around getting any of the riders in question. Apparently Zagar does not come cheap and he's certainly not a number 1 these days, you've got to be looking at the likes of Zmarzlik, Vaculik, Lindgren, Laguta, Madsen, Dudek... maybe Michelson or Thomson as an outside shout
  21. I do hope I'm wrong but for me Birmingham seem to be an NDL club, crowd wise, trying to run in the PL, they really need to make a big number 1 signing to convince the fans or it could be a very short season
  22. @the hobbit was being a bit naughty with his misquoting of Worrall, let's hope Sudden Sam can get Worrall's career back on track
