  1. Thanks, and don't leave it so long next time!
  2. ... especially after 20 minutes waiting for tyres to be changed, that should be ready before the meeting starts!
  3. Nice to see Steve Worrall showing some form... I've never rated the track as being one that really required any skill as a Speedway rider. Yes it's entertaining and the racing can be good but it's all a bit random for my liking, you can watch riders riding the same line on 2 consecutive laps and 1 lap they'll make a pass and the 2nd lap they'll get passed... it's the Speedway equivalent of Whirley Wheelers for me.
  4. Indeed it was... and Cookie is keeping them "Hanging on the Telephone" I thang you, here all week 😁
  5. They even had one of the promoters in the BSN studio yesterday and nobody thought to put the question to her of "Where is Craig Cook?"... his absence was explained during commentary as "one thing or another" 😂
  6. Maybe it was out of respect for Prince Charles recent stay in hospital... or something 😂
  7. It's why I stopped going to these events, waiting around for 20 minutes for riders to just change tyres completely ruins the event for me, something that could be ready before the meeting even starts!
  8. Probably at home tucking into their dinners it took so long to run!
  9. How often have we seen these pairs events ruined by events in the final meaning the result is a forgone conclusion?!? Personally I'd just make it a winner take all final i.e. whoever wins the race. ... and 55 minutes to run the last 3 races is ridiculous!

  11. There's (a positive) update on Sportowefakty... Woffinden has woken from his (induced) coma according to reports.
  12. ... and can somebody change the topic title to '5h1t a brick' 🙏
  13. You could just continue the discussion by answering some simple questions instead of being so narky
  14. June's a bit long to run without a rider isn't it? Maybe a short term with a Dougy or Picko and then Nicholls? But probably not feasible worth Berwick being a Saturday track (do they still run Saturdays?). Is Thomas Jorgensen fit these days?
  15. W9 LionStalker... He'll be quite a signing for the team that gets him... has worked under Mr Dickson before... quite successfully 🏆 I'm a bit surprised that Oxford didn't wait for him, especially in a league play off system where you don't need to operate at 100% for a full season.
  16. What's the deal with Scott Nicholls? Is he: a) retired? b) not "starting" the season due to injury? c) "out" for the season due to injury? Could he be an option with R/R to start the season. Because if Cook does by some miracle start the season there's not a snowball in hell's chance he'll finish it.
  17. I know... can you imagine that? 🤔
  18. Update please... I've not been able to sleep!
  19. If anybody was serious about it (the FIM) there'd be regular subsidised competion to encourage more women into speedway, this is just a token gesture in the hope of grabbing some media attention isn't it? Like the SGP events held in Australia over the winter and the SGP4. You can't just hold one off annual events and hope to breed a new generation of rider, there needs to be proper investment in a WSL.
  20. Breaking News: EU Regulations Force Speedway Bikes to Have Brakes! In a shocking turn of events, the European Union has announced new safety regulations requiring all speedway bikes to be fitted with brakes. The decision, aimed at improving rider safety, has sent shockwaves through the speedway world, where brakeless racing has been a fundamental part of the sport since its inception. The EU Commissioner for Motorsport Safety defended the move, stating: "It's 2025. We can't allow motorcycles to be ridden at high speeds without any means of stopping. It's a matter of public safety, common sense, and European unity." The regulation mandates that all bikes must be fitted with front and rear disc brakes, ABS, and—most controversially—an emergency handbrake system modelled after those found in cars. Riders caught competing without these features will face heavy fines, suspension of their racing licenses, and, in extreme cases, mandatory enrolment in a defensive riding course. The speedway community has reacted with outrage. A former world champion called the move "a disaster for the sport," adding, "Next they'll be making us race in reverse to lower speeds!" Meanwhile, a British Speedway spokesperson was equally unimpressed: "Speedway with brakes? What's next, traffic lights at the start line?", adding, “Even though the UK is no longer in the EU it will have to comply with the new rules to save riders competing with different equipment.” Manufacturers have scrambled to comply, with one company already trialling an experimental system where the brakes are automatically engaged if a rider leans too aggressively into a corner. Reports suggest that initial testing resulted in one rider performing an unexpected front flip over his handlebars. Despite the uproar, the EU remains firm, with the EU Commissioner insisting: "If Formula 1 and MotoGP can have brakes, so can speedway. Riders will just have to adapt!" The first "brake-friendly" speedway event is set to take place soon in Poland once testing is complete, with new bike designs rumoured to feature brake lights, indicators, and even a horn. Critics argue that these changes will ruin the spectacle, but EU officials have assured fans that "it will only make the racing more strategic and pedestrian-friendly." For now, the sport holds its breath (and brakes) as it hurtles toward a slower, safer future.
  21. It seems that if you're not the first to hit the fence you're screwed!
