No, just a return to winter conditions... DD was justifying the decision to call off Saturdays meeting though by saying that even though the rain didn't arrive it was cold and windy so they did the right thing

it's happened to us all over the years... and will happen again, the crucial difference being that it had actually rained and the promotion didn't call the meeting off, they were justifying it last weekend saying they did the right thing because it was really cold anyway... so by that logic, will Saturday happen?

The weather forecast for this weekend is predicting a cold snap... Best start to think about calling the Eastie match off!

It didn't really start training until around 10pm

We'll never know how many would have turned up last night but the facts we do know are that it didn't rain last night, the meeting could have been completed last night and the crowd was well down this afternoon compared to a normal Saturday evening crowd. I have to say though this afternoon's match was very entertaining, the best yet that I've been to at BP this season with some very good racing, it's just a shame there weren't more there to see it. Also a shame that EP didn't complete his max in heat 15 and the track could have done with a sprinkle of water during the interval.

Thanks for going back and editing your original post to throw some abuse at me... You can't run a sport, especially in this country, based on weather forecasts as they invariably change as time moves on. You may not have anything else going on in your life but many others do and make plans around fixtures... The clue is in the name.

The problem is... If you're going to start cancelling meetings based on weather forecasts you may as well do away with the fixture list.

The close scoreline kept things interesting tonight, there were a handful of good races, I've got to say though I thought the track was borderline dangerous!

Well... This track everybody is raving about is turning out to be a bit of a joke so far after 2 heats and 1 lap... Now for a bit of unscheduled tractor racing

What time does the sun set tonight Shale Searcher? Will there be any kind of sun delay do you think? Lions promotion have really been pushing this one with "an amazing war of words" breaking out between the clubs with "Dicko" saying "Don’t get me wrong, I think Sheffield are a very good side" wow! harsh! They've also been patting themselves on the back for the last couple of weeks about the track... So I'm expecting a close hard fought tussle tonight with great racing on the great track run at a good pace... just how Speedway used to be! Can't wait!
