  1. Just thought, that if Jim Lawrence had his own thread then so should Tai
  2. I refer you to my previous reply... The man is about to become 3 times BRITISH World Champion!!!
  3. He'll do it... He's done it twice before and he's already said he's going to do it tomorrow. Bartek has already shown himself to be a bit of a choker when he should have cut Tai's lead to 4 or 5 points, there's no way he'll do it in front of his own fans. I think to win his first title he needs to start the season well and hang on
  4. Yes, he gets a mention, there's posts about him in the SoN section, I just think he deserves his own section on the verge of such a massive achievement.
  5. It reads as if that's exactly what they do to me... So the BSPA make the rules up and the SCB enforce them?
  6. The members of the board... Blimey you have to be Columbo to piece all this together. Am I right in thinking that the SCB are like arbitrators in BSPA petty squabbles?
  7. I can't believe that the day before Tai proves himself to be the best British Speedway racer ever there is barely any mention of it on here. On the verge of his 3rd world title he's been head and shoulders above his rivals this year with only a very slight wobble a couple of GP's ago. Number 3 will see him join the greats of the sport and at 28 if he can stay injury free surely TRicks record must be in danger. Ah but I hear you cry... He talks with an Australian accent, he's turned his back on British Speedway, he's got tattoos! I think he's grown up a lot in the last few years and now comes across really well on TV, articulate and arrogant... Which is ok when you can back it up. Woffy! Woffy! Woffy!
  8. Speaking as somebody who has been fortunate enough to attend Belle Vue and unfortunate enough to attend Leicester regularly over the last few years, given the choice I'd take the NSS every day of the week for the sheer unpredictability of the racing, you know it's going to be good but nobody is in a safe position on that track, where as the only unpredictability at Leicester is who is going to make the gate. I used to think that making a pass should be something that is difficult (although perhaps not as difficult as at Leicester) and requires skill to complete but having witnessed Speedway at the NSS my opinion on that has changed.
  9. So he (they) basically do as he's told by the BSPA? Could they have stopped FRN or doubling up or any of the other disasters over the years that has nearly killed the sport in this country?
  10. What "things" I still don't get it... What "things" did his predecessor deal with... I'm not being funny here, I genuinely just don't know
  11. At least with Fraud selling up this will hopefully see the end of that kind of behaviour and the continual bending of the rules
  12. Why? I'm not sure what impact this position has on Speedway in the UK... Can somebody educate me
  13. I speak as a fan of both sports and I watch and like them both for very different reasons, for me Speedway is purely about the racing at it's rawest. F1 is much more layered, there's the money, glamour, politics, technology and probably a long way down the list the racing. If I watched F1 for the racing, I wouldn't watch it. There's probably even 2 fan bases that watch F1 also, those that go live and those that follow it on TV. I've been to Silverstone a couple of times and both times never stopped for the race preferring to watch it at home on the TV. I got the experience of hearing the old high revving engines and seeing the impossible cornering speeds but couldn't get into it as a sporting event live, effectively just watching a car go by every few seconds. I don't feel you can compare them... It's like comparing Speedway to Horse Racing or Greyhounds or 1500m Atheletcs... All racing but attracting very different audiences.
  14. I watched the match last night and then read this thread this morning and it's almost as entertaining as the speedway last night... Thanks everybody
  15. Why the paramedic has to go to hospital with a rider with a broken collarbone seems strange but I'm sure he/she knows best. I suppose it's only right that BT Sport are treated the same way us fans are
  16. Another meeting without adequate medical cover
  17. Lambo rides in the top League in Sweden doesn't he? Be interesting to see if he moves up a league in Poland next year
  18. So is Poland L1 the same as UK PL? I can't find any details on clubs and riders etc.
  19. Do you think that is a higher level than PL? Would progression these days be NL, CL, PL, Poland L1, Poland EL? I have no idea of the strength of Polish L1 teams
