Not wishing to labour the point, I'm going to labour the point. Since Max Fricke joined Leicester: 2023 rode in 24 out of 24 league matches 2024 rode in 24 out of 24 league matches 2025 has ridden in 10 out of 10 league matches Brings his mechanical team to all meetings, not a turn up and ride the track spare with a have spanner will travel mechanic Hasn't missed any matches chasing personal glory Hasn't let the club down on the eve of the season Hasn't been done for taking drugs! Yes he had a slow start to his Leicester career and went missing in the Finals last year, but everybody is entitled to a duffer now and again, it was just unfortunate it was in the final... that's sport. I'd say he was the model "star" for the Premiership League and like you say... he's a class act. š

If Mr Tolley has any hopes of running Speedway again, I'd say yes.

Absolutely, I can't understand why every rider doesn't wear a neck brace unless they don't work, in which case why do a lot of riders wear them. Jason Doyle is wearing an inflatable vest this season, understandable... but Bomber now doesn't wear them. Personally I'd make both compulsory much like air fences.

It's strange that some protective kit is compulsory (Helmet, body armour) but others are optional (neck brace, inflatable vest).

Reports suggest injuries to his neck though, which I assume occurred when he hit the track. Who knows š¤·āāļø

Didn't look to bad did it... collarbone at worst you'd have said normally. Don't know if one of those neck brace things that some riders wear would have made a difference, I'm not sure what they're supposed to do if I'm honest.

That may have been the case but I was replying to the general point š "Too many serious injuries in Poland"

Big money, desperate riders...

Who haven't we tried from Berwick yet? Danyon Hume?

I've seen the flash of a photographers camera send riders into the tapes a few times down the years. It may be worthwhile for riders to maybe look at the tapes in front of them at the start of crucial races instead of the mechanism at the sides, I think I've seen Leon Madsen do this on occasion in some GP's... especially when the tapes aren't going up evenly. Maybe one for the team managers to relay to a rider. SCB Regs say there must be a "Bowser", I suppose it depends on the definition of what a "Bowser" is. It sounds very much though that Birmingham's equipment is inadequate. 05.1.8 Track Preparation Equipment As detailed on the Homologation Certificate, must be available in working order. Vehicles must be fitted with rotating flashing hazard warning lights. The minimum equipment required is as follows: ā¢2 Tractors ā¢1 Grader ā¢1 Harrow or Wheel ā¢1 Blade ā¢1 Water Bowser There must be a quantity of dry shale and/or sawdust and means of getting it onto the track.
