Bundesliga Record Win By Brokstedt
em1500uk replied to iris123's topic in International World of Speedway
Great scores from Mads and Kevin Are Brokstedt going into the final in October? -
Maybe not, but I won't hold that against him personally. The world U21s are a big deal, may be more so to some individuals than others. It must offer the chance for more exposure media wise internationally with the potential of getting more sponsors and so on out of it. Shame he didn't ride for us on Wednesday but I'm glad he's doing well in this competition so far.

This is exactly why I never bothered going to the official site to look for a fixture list there, as I didn't think there'd be an up-to-date one on there. Just easier to ask on here to see if anyone knew anything. These are all the outstanding fixtures I have down as 'to be re-arranged': Wed 30th May: Isle Of Wight (H) Wed 13th June: Stoke (H) Sun 1st July: Buxton (A) Wed 8th August: Buxton (H) - moved due to the EL fixture against Eastbourne being placed on this date Wed 22nd August: Rye House (H) - now a reserved date for an EL match in case of rain offs Wed 5th September: Mildenhall (H) - moved due to the EL fixture against Birmingham being placed on this date The NL season for Lynn hasn't really got under way at home this year cos of all the EL rain offs and those fixtures taking precedence. Kinda annoying, but there we go.

Talking of the NL meetings being called off both home and away for our guys, does anyone have an up to date fixture list?

Kings Lynn World Cup 9 July
em1500uk replied to steve19620's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I thought we were meant to be expecting a lot of rain yesterday, but I was in Lynn yesterday and there weren't much rain at all, in fact I don't think there was any! Today's pretty much the same at the moment. It's been dry ever since I got up anyway, but I don't know what the weather's like in Lynn at present as I'm not over there. I would imagine this meeting will be staged without too much bother. As has already been said, the NA have lots of good equipment on hand to scrap the top surface off the track and then relay some dry shale on it afterwards. There's not many tracks in the country that can do that well I'm sure. -
Thought so. Shame as he was good. He did end up having some nasty injuries to overcome too which never really helped him fulfil his full potential over here.
-
I thought he was racing the odd meeting over in his homeland in Canada? Plus, I also thought his partner was expecting a baby? Not 100% sure on either of those things, so someone correct me if I'm wrong! Had he? That's news to me! I've always been a fan of Kyle, so I hope that isn't true Back to Rusty, so, he isn't retiring?...

Swedish World Cup Squad Announced
em1500uk replied to Ghostwalker's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Slightly surprising not to see Daniel Nermark in there somewhere but I guess with so many decent Swedish riders to choose from, someone had to be left out! All the names there are pretty good. Picking 4 out of that selection will be difficult as you're spoilt for choice IMO. -
Well done to Richie Worrall! A famtastic achievement for himself as an individual and for Team GB. It'll be a great experience for him Well done to Magic too!

World Under 21 Qualifying Rounds
em1500uk replied to MrMungo's topic in International World of Speedway
Well done to Richie and Tom I hope they and Kyle Newman make it stick when they get into the semis now. It's nice to see Britain getting some young riders making a decent showing on the international scene. -
Yep. I remember the development league thing For me personally, I don't mind whether we win, lose or draw. Can't be too critical of these lads as they are just trying to find their way in the sport. All I want to see is some decent racing and everyone coming away unhurt. I can appreciate that the lack of fixtures so far can't be helping the cause much. Isn't helping them all keep race sharp I guess.

I'm starting to wonder how we're possible NL winners now myself. I went to Mildenhall a few weeks ago with dad when the Young Stars were there and left fairly dissappointed. The only real shining light from that meeting for us was Tom Stokes. Again last night, he looked really good. Lewis Kerr, at Mildenhall, looked awful but last night he looked a lot better, he was just very unlucky with his falls, but his style was most certainly back. Adam Lowe also looked a bit better compared to the Mildenhall meeting, but after coming back from that nasty back injury(?) from last year, it's not surprised he's not banging in high scores, so I think he's managing. Jake Knight seems to have gone off the boil big time which is sad to see as he looked impressive last year. Dad has already stated that he won't be going to any NL meetings. For me personally, I'm undecided. I could go up for a nosey on my own if I wanted, but we'll see. I wasn't surprised to see Dudley take the win TBH, as they have a strong top 3, but at the same time, Lynn did throw it away in my eyes in the last few heats. Texter: em1500uk (yours truly!) I'm going Sue! I can send heat by heat results with no comments as I'd probably take forever if I added comments in too LOL!
-
Apologies. Got my wires crossed a bit there Thanks for providing the result. Very interesting indeed Never knew Robert was riding over in Europe. You really do learn something every day!
-
Really? That's amazing, if true. I've seen Robert Lambert race a bit myself and he looks brilliant on a speedway bike for one so young. He certainly looks an exceptional prospect. I just hope he gets the support and financial backing he needs before he turns 16 and can get into the NL over here and beyond. It'd be criminal to let someone like him just fade away and let the talent go to waste!
-
Ah right. Thanks! I was somewhat confused there I didn't think there was a world U21 qualification round on today. That makes things clearer. As you say though, this is speedway (!) Still very good for GB. Good to see the young, up and coming kids doing well on the international scene. Would like to see it continue.
-
Well done Kyle! Sorry for being rather thick ( ) but is this qualification for the world U21 individual championship or something else?
