Polish Extraleague 2013 Confirmed Signings
em1500uk replied to racers and royals's topic in International World of Speedway
Nermark is far from crap in Poland! He may not have done so well over here this season just gone, but in Poland and Sweden, he seemed to do alright if you ask me! -
Scunthorpe Scorpions 2012 Premier League Champions
em1500uk replied to moorwell's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Congratz to all at Scunthorpe! I hope you enjoy your celebrations Wish I could've made it as I thought it'd be a close encounter. -
It's Newcastle's to lose now in my opinion. The Diamonds should be able to do it on their own track. Not even sure that the Witches will be able to keep the score close. Sorry Witches but that's my feeling. P.S. Nice of Tsunami to come over and introduce himself to me last night Something I didn't expect to happen! Nice to meet you after seeing you post on here all these years. Always good to put a face to a name. I did mention this in the Ipswich thread, but don't think he's seen my post.

I thought the crowd number looked OK, but then again, I'm not there every week, so what do I know! If that was a below par crowd compared to usual then that should be a big concern, especially as it was a final! Not like it was a fixture with no meaning. The racing in the end was fairly decent despite the tricky conditions. The track could've looked a lot worse so hats off to the track staff for getting it to some kinda raceable surface. There was a little rain/hail shower at heat 9 which dampened things off again, but thankfully it didn't last very long. I did initially think that the conditions should suit the Diamonds more than the Witches and it seems my view was proved right. Out of the Diamonds, Claes Nedermark and Christian Henry looked good and Matty Wethers seemed a good choice of guest at reserve. Haven't seen Christian race since 2009 when the Stars were in the PL and it was good to see him still racing well. I don't think I'd ever seen Claes race before, so he was a big surprise to me. Looks a good prospect. As for the Witches, I thought that they were poor overall. I know the conditions weren't ideal, but the surface was the same for everyone. Newcastle seemed to be attacking it slightly more and they got the better result. Taylor Poole I thought looked particularly poor out of everyone. Rohan Tungate looked a shadow of his former self. I have seen him have much better meetings. Leigh Lanham actually looked like a number 1 last night in comparison to my previous visits, so credit where credit's due! Nice of Tsunami to come and introduce himself to me before the meeting in the cafe! I knew he would be there, but never expected to see him! And yes, I am as nice and as reasonable as I appear on here Or at least I try to be anyway!

Congratz to Mildenhall As a neutral last night, all I went to see was some good racing and wasn't too bothered who won the league myself. Sadly, the rain did spoil the conditions and the racing wasn't too good early on, but hats off to all the riders for going out there and racing on it. Whenever anyone moved to the outside, there was always that risk of someone falling off! Heat 13 was my race of the night. Was a pretty good ride by Stefan Nielsen. The incident in heat 15 involving Roynon, Nielsen and Morris was just an unfortunate accident. It was good that the ref had footage to watch back cos it all happened so fast that even I couldn't remember who was exactly where on the track and I was stood right in front of where it all happened. All I could remember was Nielsen being in a Dudley sandwich! Dudley were on a 5-1 out of the gate, but for some of the Heathens fans to say that they were cheated out of the result to my dad on our exit seemed a bit much. In heat 15 it was all or nothing. Roynon and Morris knew what they needed to do and Nielsen knew what he needed to do. He was close enough to the pair to try and get past them, so he made his move. You wouldn't expect anyone to do anything less. Mildenhall needed a 3-3 at least and both sides knew this and what was at stake. Yes, it is sad that it all ended in that way, but sometimes that's what happens in speedway - riders give it a real go and sometimes they or others get hurt in the process. I wish Adam a speedy recovery. He never seems to get lucky on track!

Need to decide whether to attend this meeting or not. Next week there are a few options for me personally. Either this, Scunthorpe v Somerset in the PL final on Sunday 28th or Mildenhall v Dudley in the NL final on Wednesday 24th. Already committed myself to Peterborough v Poole in the EL KOC semi on Thursday 25th, but need to make my mind up which one to do out of the other fixtures. I only wish I could do all of them! Anyway, good luck to the Witches and Diamonds. May the best team win

New Owners For Workington
em1500uk replied to scaramanga's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Great news for Workington! I wish the new owners well in their venture over the next few years. I hope the people of Cumbria turn out to support you! -
Really hope that this doesn't spell the demise of the Edinburgh Monarchs. I have a few friends who are Monarchs supporters and I would be gutted for them if the club was to fold. The whole uncertainty over their "home" over the last 2 years or so isn't helping matters either.

Ryan Fisher Joins Leicester
em1500uk replied to justathought's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Interesting. Hope the move does him good if it's true. I wonder what league Leicester will be in though? Wouldn't mind seeing him in a Stars jacket in the EL. Some Lynn supporters probably wouldn't pee on him if he was on fire to put it politely LOL but I wouldn't mind seeing him race for us. I wouldn't say he's had his day yet either. He is an entertainer; box office material. Alright, he is a bit like marmite and you either love him or hate him, but it's characters like that that we need in the sport. He certainly spices things up a bit! In his large write up for the PLRC original date he did say that PL racing was more worthwhile cos of the fact that there's so many fixtures compared to the EL, which is sparce in comparison, so I presume he may well be slightly financially better off racing in the PL at present. -
Ashley Birks Sponsor's Day
em1500uk replied to shiftstudios's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Great video! Seems to really appreciate the support he's given, which is always good to see from any rider. Hope he makes even further progress as he seems to have done pretty well this year for Scunthorpe -
James Brundle had a skid after the meeting on Wednesday. Is he coming back into speedway to join the Young Stars? May be a good move if that's the case. I know he hasn't raced in a while, but he does know the NA track well.

Ah... Well they won't call off a greyhound meeting as they probably get a lot of money out of that! Suppose we'll just have to risk it. May well be the only chance I get to see any of these young foreign riders ride over here, for a while at least. May well see you there then, if you decide to risk going. Think we're going to.

If this meeting is called off, I take it they'll try and get the meeting rearranged for Saturday 18th? I know I'm probably asking a stupid question, but the forecast on Friday looks...well...not amazing from what I remember. I know someone did post a forecast link earlier in the topic, but I think the forecast may well have changed?
