  1. Rides for Coventry doesn't he? So he would miss the Friday meetings...
  2. Interesting. Well, I hope it works out if that is the plan! I had seen the NL fixture mentioned on the Rye House website. I pay £17 for one EL meeting at Lynn now, so looking at it that way, £20 for two meetings ain't bad really. Although...I imagine not everyone will want to stay for the NL fixture so may not be prepared to pay that price. I'll bear that in mind whilst I'm making a decision.
  3. I have a feeling Lakeside might well win this...and that's not down to the fact that Sky are there or that the weather might be dodgy. For me, we just don't seem to be the same formidable unit as we were last year, even with only losing Lewis Rose. I know it's early days, but I'm just not sure we'll hit the ground running like we did in 2014
  4. Well...god only knows really! As has been stated on the PPSSC on Facebook, it may well be difficult to find a rider that matches Allen. A lot of decent names that have already been mentioned on Facebook ride in Poland on Sundays and that would probably be an issue as then you'd end up having to get guests anyway! Mads Korneliussen, Patrick Hougaard, Kenni Larsen...all mentioned and all riding in Poland. Mads didn't want UK racing this year anyway as far as I know, but yeah... Who knows? The club will have a hard job on their hands I think.
  5. What?!?! Are you messing or being serious? And Glasgow have a got a renaming thing going on too haven't they? It's a good thing, but as I say, I'm finding it hard to ditch the old stadium names The Rye House side looks good. Could well surprise this year. I like the likes of Robin Aspegren and Anders Mellegren (thinking back to the Newport days) but Kasper Lykke and Nicolaj Busk Jakobsen look good. Never seen either of them ride before Friday. I actually wasn't going to bother going to the meeting as I didn't think Rye House would give Peterborough much bother but I was proven very very wrong and although I do want Peterborough to start winning their home meetings, I'm glad I went just to see these new faces (well new to me anyway)! I don't know whether to dare to go to Rye House on Easter Monday for part two of this... I've not been to Rye House since 2010 and swore I wouldn't go back anymore after that season Hmm!
  6. Yes, I imagine it is That's before my time, hahaha! It's always been Norfolk Arena to me. It's hard to stop myself saying it with this new stadium naming thing going on.
  7. Agree with these statements! The racing to me seems more of a spectacle there than it does at my own track, the Adrian Flux Arena (hard to stop calling it the Norfolk Arena! ) I, for one, am thankful that we still have an East of England Showground track to visit
  8. I thought that there was more of a crowd for the Sunday fixture against Somerset...but then again, it is early days. Unless Panthers starting winning their home meetings, the crowds could well drop again and that will happen no matter what day they race on. As has been stated somewhere, there are many supporters out there that just want to see their team win, at least at home, so if this doesn't happen regularly, then the Panthers could be in trouble For me, I feel like I want to make the most of the Showground and the speedway it offers whilst it's still there to be enjoyed. It came so close to closing in the winter that win, lose or draw, this season, I want to be there. Worrying to think that the track could've been dug up and never seen again!
  9. Don't say that just yet! Got to try and stay positive despite what's happened!
  10. Cheers both Different rules for different leagues? No wonder I am so lost these days
  11. I arrived kinda later than usual, so decided not to bother sitting in the stand. I did my usual thing and just stood at the very back. Wasn't that cold in there thankfully! Again, a shame about the result but the racing, despite the track having seen better days, was good I thought. Olly Allen was rightly excluded after his fall. I thought his move was kinda brash myself, but hey ho. Racers will be racers and of course he wasn't going to settle for 3rd...but now Panthers are without a number one and need to get searching for a replacement and fast! They certainly can't continue as they are. One query, how does rider replacement for an injury work, as in, who's able to take the remaining rides for the injured rider? At Lynn on Thursday when Nicklas Porsing went out injured early doors, Robert Lambert took one of his rides and he's not a reserve. Yet, at Peterborough last night, the reserves were the only ones that took Allen's remaining rides. Are the rules different for the EL and PL? I will be there again on Good Friday, but whether I now do the Ipswich leg of the double header, I'm unsure. With Allen injured and both Lewis Blackbird and Robert Lambert being missing on EL duty, it all depends on what the team line up is...
  12. I'll be back again tonight...but I think I'm going to sit down in the stand this time and take a blanket. After freezing myself to bits last night at Lynn, I don't intend to do the same thing later
  13. That comment came from the mouth of yours truly. For Holder to fall off around our place, I think is highly unusual personally. Both he and Rory seemed to get into bother in the same place, so I honestly thought that there was a rut or something over there on bend 3 that caused them both to come off. Just my view. Could well be wrong. It had rained a lot yesterday morning and apparently stocks had been on the track over the weekend just gone so... I imagine that may well have not helped? I left after heat 11 last night. Could not stick it any longer I'm afraid. Was far too cold. My feet and hands were like blocks of ice! What really did it for me was them saying that they were going into an interval after heat 10...even though we had had several delays early doors for all those crashes. Riders were hurt and needed assistance, that's fine, I don't mind waiting for that, but to then have an actual interval after all those delays on such a cold night seemed madness to me. Normally they say, no interval, let's get these remaining 5 heats done, but not last night. We had an interval of tractor racing instead Quite a few others left the meeting before I did...like...maybe even after heat 9, simply due to the fact that they were that cold they just couldn't watch anymore!
  14. Awful news Best wishes to Kenneth and I hope these tests and the treatment go well and that he makes a full recovery.
  15. It's now supposedly meant to be rainy in the morning and then drying out by the afternoon... If the forecast stays that way, I imagine Buster and the track staff will work all afternoon to get the meeting on With regards to tonight, hope we are competitive and more cobwebs are blown away
  16. Bit delayed, but I really enjoyed the racing on Sunday I went home feeling entertained that's for sure! Shame about the result for Peterborough but they were beaten by one of the better PL teams I thought. Somerset, Benji Compton apart, have a really good line up and will probably be challenging for honours again come the end of this season. Will hopefully get down to Somerset for the first time towards the end of next month when Peterborough are there on the 24th
  17. Like Buster Chapman said, set fire to the rulebook. Might as well. It means nowt anyway these days http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/speedway/30116294
  18. My first Peterborough fixture won't be this one, but next Sunday v Somerset I hope those going tomorrow see a good meeting
  19. 2pm start for the Great Britain Select (15th March) and 1pm start for the League Cup against Somerset (22nd March)
  20. From reading this http://www.speedwaygb.co/gbe it looks like Kozza may well be affected. Although he has an average of over 7 (I believe?) that average was not achieved last year, so I suspected that he may well be disallowed. Massive shame if that proves to be the case, but rules are rules.
  21. Thank you! So it looks like quite a few may well end up being affected then by reading that. Although in the last sentence it does say that extensions and exceptions can be made for those that have been injured (with medical evidence given) where they fail to meet the required average, but that may well not come into play with any of the Aussies etc that are currently affected.
  22. Well I'm the first 25-40 female to vote so it seems
  23. Where does it state this? Can't see anything in the Workington press release about the average needing to have been achieved in the previous year...but maybe they've left that detail out
  24. Changed his mind Taking a break didn't last very long
