  1. 1, ellis 2 kemp 3 allen 4 palin 5 barker 6 mountain 7 Kingsley or Gilkes no Lambert or Jorgensen for me even though both have done well this year Thomas to injury prone and Simon don't do enough away on a regular basis
  2. Thing is scunthorpe have been generally poor recently from heat 11 onwards. And in all honesty we were never in the meeting and soundly beaten by a better team. Personally I didn't leave as it was last meeting of season but each to there own . Think most scunthorpe fans even prior to the meeting new we would get beat and probably for the first time this season the atmosphere was subdued from start to finish
  3. Does it really matter who is at home first in speedway. Scunthorpe will get beat over 2 legs by everyone as we are pants away or is it just another debating point by the key board warriors who want to have a go at Rob Godfrey
  4. In fairness the following could all run in a Nora league as all thee tracks are available or can be hired . IOW, Lydd, Iwade , Scunthorpe, Redcarr , Kings Lynn ,Leicester then there is the potential of Oxford Workington Buxton and Mildenhall . All it needs is people to put there necks out to hire the tracks and then promote it to a paying public. Could be of National league standard to what ever limit you want or run like the German teams cup which is done I believe on a 4tt format but they do include 250s as 5th rider. Could be run like Barry runs the Iow for all those who want a break away league you just have to get up and get on it's there if you want it. as I see it it once in a blue moon opportunity for it to happen but don't see it happening as there are not enough people who will do what Barry and Martin do to make there product work. To many will sit and moan instead of trying it
  5. Next year is six teams with only 21 riders to choose from each team picks their team prior to the season for home meetings only away team can use any one of the other 14
  6. They did say stuff it originally only got Ryan as Redcarr was called off
  7. Wouldn't be to sure on that reckon the track could be exactly the same plenty of water on before
  8. In fairness the track prior to the start was only slightly wetter than it would be for a meeting on a hot summers evening. Poole were the ones who short changed the public with there lack of drive to race. Remember the ref makes the call if it's fit to race and fair play to him . Could of been a better meeting but not everyone is a classic.
  9. Track was good until rain hit prior to start and was probably the worst meeting I have seen for several years at scunny . However only one team wanted to race the majority of the other just rode . Tac sub heat 8
  10. Would tell me there is no reconstruction happening and going to have same old double up and down rubbish
  11. In fairness he has been the best rider on show at scunny all season
  12. Don't Berwick and Leicester count Saturday as there main nights
  13. I would like to know which riders Were forced into this
  14. Probably £70 a point would you let your workmate earn money whilst you get nothing for doing same job
  15. No I fully understand the point and in fairness I despise the doubling up of riders . My point is Peterborough new a rider was already signed for another club it was there choice to use him so can be no complaints. Doubling up will continue as long as clubs carry on selecting the same riders
  16. In fairness jordan palin is our rider was signed to scunthorpe first so can't see any problem with that if Peterborough wanted to they could of used another rising star
  17. I'm with you on helmets but in fairness lots of riders are not paying for mechanics the work is done on lots of occasions by friends, family or junior riders looking for experience. The pits become an intense place during a meeting and riders are busy passing on info to others changing helmet covers and cleaning goggles between heats especially in today's climate were fans like meetings pushed on time is limited. Clutch coolers are needed as the potential to burn it out if running to hot is very high. Surely £100 for a cooler that lasts years is better than burning up a full set of clutch plates and alloys which cost over £200
  18. Strange year for 500 a couple injured and some not opting to ride and some who are eligible stayed 250 ,
  19. Good morning Martin not old enough be involved in the Poultec scheme so can't comment
  20. There is a train of thought that kids can't ride prepared tracks and they need to be slick but if they don't have the chance to ride them how would they know. We did the Scunthorpe v Leicester challenge last year as part of the 250 group and the track was somewhere between championship and National league preparation and the boys coped admirably. Have done very few second half's this year as was finding it was just an exercise in learning how to change tyres and I already knew how to do that . unfortunately we don't have a dedicated trading system like the Poles , Germans, Danes and Swedes the majority of our training is pay £40 and queue up. There have been some good sessions with Jason crump though but sadly not enough . Personally think we could do with someone different at each level 125, 250 and 500 to pass on information and educate riders and parents He is loving it and enjoying at the moment but as the years go by and the nearer it gets to reality of potentially league racing the more intense it gets
  21. Servicing is done by Sean wilson and Robbie Kessler . Is not the maintenance for me it's set ups ,jetting ,timing up a tooth down a tooth shorten it up lengthen it up and the rest . I get good feed back from the pilot but it is interpreting it from what he says to what I see when he's riding . Constantly when we have been away we have nobody with this type of knowledge with us .
