The Long Eaton Stadium Site - 2015
speedibee replied to TheReturn's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I'll have to scratch the 93 .. it was a long time ago and I've been to sleep a few times since then whatever year it was the story is the same definitely Fina were on board during the Boocock/Drury era . I think when Eric got involved that's when Long Eaton shook off the Cinderella tag . they became a bit more succesful than previously , and had a hardcore following like no other team . wherever they went at least 100 followed . absolutely fabulous times ,, topped for me only by Middlesbrough of the same era -

We were ready to go in 93,, all stock purchased for the track shop .. body colours made , team all signed and sealed . tony mole even offered the bank Of Scotland the rent money up to Sept. up front , nothing could possibly have been done on the site before then . and RBS owed it to the creditors to take any revenue they could get to share between them , but they were having none of it . the matches and petrol had already been bought for the mystery fires . and all the necessary red herrings about potential buyers were in place to stave off too much protest ,, -
I don't really do gambling , but I would have a quid on him being in the first GP after his ban expires Business has no morals , and Bsi have shown they care nothing for speedway outside their product , of course there will be a large contingent of Poole fans who will be all for his return at the earliest possible time, but in the main people who care about speedway and Ward as well , won't be so keen to see the red carpet rolled out for a troubled youngster ..

I hope your'e not suggesting that we don't bend over backwards and run British speedway for the benefit of a few foreign riders , or Gp riders who need bread and butter earnings in between Gps . because that would be racist and xenophobic . -

never expected to see you get an answer, question wasn't convenient enough , I never got an answer from Sidney either , same reason he couldn't answer without ruining his own argument . so just kept quiet .. -
start with 8 Psi , then check it after 1 race they usually inflate as the tyre gets hot .

and that of course is your opinion , which you are welcome to .. of course despite the tone of the posting it does not constitute any sort of statute , and concequently does not override anyone elses view . -
you cannot get sports injury insurance any more . if you already had a policy as long as you dont let it lapse you can renew 'but no new policies can be bought not from American Combined or anywhere else .. gone are the days when riders could get a scratch riding in an end of season challenge and holiday the winter away on the insurance

He doesn't reckon British speedway is worth the candle NOW . but he was quite happy to make use of it to get started . I'm sure he doesn't he doesn't think Scunthorpe , Rye House , Poole or Wolverhampton are worth the candle now, they have served their purpose and they and their supporters can go swivel as far as he's concerned . personally I'm Glad he's gone .British speedway is no worse for his absence and with any luck it will make a few promoters think twice before employing GP riders , and might even make them consider if it's worth running the worlds training scheme, only to get kicked in the teeth as soon as the riders they have trained thing they are too big for Britain any longer Zagar iversen and AJ didnt learn to ride here ,so they are free to do as they please. Batchelor has never opted out . so that leaves former British speedway academy rider Holder, who did , -

. Why ride here , I don't know , maybe we should ask . Kevin Doolan Cameron Woodward. Kozza Smith, Mark Lemon, Dave Watt .Josh Graszonech , Arthur Sissis, Jason Doyle ,Troy Batchelor, nick Morris ,Dakota North, Justin Sedgeman,Cameron Heeps or Alex davies ,, why they bother , why not just bypass us and go straight to Poland .?.or maybe you could answer Sidney train the riders until they are of a decent standard . then dance to the tune of the leagues they choose to prioitise . that's what your saying isn't it -

absolutely .can't blame Crump or Hancock they don't owe us a thing. they came here after spending a good few seasons as raw arsed kids learning to ride and being well paid for it In Poland .. why should they show any gratitude to British promoters or fans , they did they did exactly as they should and showed integrity by always giving their best to the country and fans that nurtured them . if we don't want to get kicked then it's time we took a chance on some Australians and Americans , stand by them while they learn and reap the benefits later on .. +1 on that -

Cricket can afford to abandon a showpiece event ,because people are prepared to throw money at the pathetic borefest .. speedway does not have the same luxury , the government and banks weren't paying the riders to be there on Saturday. The people who they let down were ,, I don't have a problem if Nicki Pedersen thinks it's dangerous and doesn't want to ride , let him pack his clobber and go home , but he wasn't going to do that ,Him and some others wanted all the riders to call it off so they all lost points . but it didn't work out like that ,Thank god and they still lost out . not quite as much as people who had bought tickets Air flights and hotels though. and not nearly as much as speedway itself lost out . -

I wonder if some of the problem with preparing and indoor track could be the difficulty of containing too much loose top surface most indoors have several rows of seats covered to prevent too much dirt getting onto seating , and if too much top surface is applied then more will get showered further out ,, so the surface has to be made harder than normal and consequently once the very hard crust is breached and the softer underbelly is exposed the inconsistencies become apparent with areas of slick and grip ..
