  1. It's all looking might Posh .Cant wait to see the pictures when the track is marked out , that will be a watershed moment for speedway
  2. Ok .thanks for that . I didn't really know if they had actually started . but good to know it's game on finally . look forward to seeing some progress later in the summer something positive at last . but with speedway's recent track record I cant help but think ,how will they manage to F##k this up ?
  3. Most likely won't be needing any . if the feedback from those were there is anything to go by
  4. the riders have held a meeting this morning ,and have outlined their requirements before racing commences at the next GP . they have explained cleal;ry the standards they are prepared to accept and had a visual display created of what it should look like .. Here's a sneak preview
  5. what a lovely bloke you are ..errrrrrrrrrrrrrr not . sorry did it offend you because you spent so long writing your totally self righteous post , that you cannot accept an alternative view on any single line of it . what a sad and vindictive person , go crawl back under your rock ..
  6. speedway needs to go for bigger more prestige venues , the gps were run on existing tracks until the millenium stadium in 2000 . 6.000 at the last Gp at existing track brandon .went to 42.000 for the first indoor . if speedway is gojng to compete with other major events we need the big stadiums in city centres ,Warsaw was a good step forward . but the track didn;t hold together . unless someone can come up with a synthetic surface (personally I would investigate shell grip applied to boards ) then this could be the answer to the problem of rough and bumpy indoor tracks there is that of course .or stored in an assembled form with a caretaker to look after it between events . just like the outdoor versions
  7. it is yes . but the temporary tracks break up and get ruts because they don't have time to settle and bond together .only being ;laid a few days before . track in a box would have time to settle and would become like a permanent track . just means it could be transported and assembled in the allowed time . but the settling and bonding would already be done . in fact it could even be laid on top of a football pitch . that would open the door to many more venues ..
  8. The Football pitch At Cardiff is in boxes so it can be removed when the stadium is used for other purposes . maybe a speedway track made in a similar way.. would be the solution to temporary tracks . if you can transport 175 lorry loads of shale to build a track and still be cost effective . then you should be able to do the same with what I am going to name "track in a box " it would be a settled base which would prevent it breaking up . easy to assemble and could be transported between venues .put the boxes down in order add some top surface water it , Game on
  9. if they are going to call of the prague GPbecause it's not perfect they might as well do it now . it will be a guaranteed borefest
  10. Sounds like your'e getting just what you want with speedway then , sport and nothing else . I prefer my evenings at the speedway to be entertaining as well ,
  11. I hope the riders who voted to cancel will get named and shamed , we can already apportion some blame to Phil Morris ,and Jim Lawrence , now I would like to know which riders I need to boycott to avoid any of my admission fee winding up in their coffers .. I don't expect them to take unecessary risks . but they should have bent over backwards to ensure this showpiece event was properly concluded . each and every rider there last night has ridden on far worse tracks than that . in fact Cardiff winds up more rutted every year . and the time Morris wasted arguing with them would have been better spent trying to get the surface rideable for the remaining heats ..
  12. No thanks . I dont intend to cycle anywhere , nor do I have any intention of watching anyone else do it .. football , great if you are a sheep and don't have the intelligence to follow a real sport
  13. Yes you can .MX, American football , Football , Cycling , and the absolute proof WWF.. all bullrubbish sports . relying entirely on Atmosphere and Hype
  14. I wonder if the riders who were complaining . were hoping for a restage today at an outdoor venue ?
  15. I have seen a blixt version . on 1 of michael max's bikes . I believe these new ones are B.A.R so they will cost a fortune . Well at least until someone realises that the handlebar end is off a KTM mx bike . and the Poles quickly copy / find a suitable alternative slave cylinder .. maybe Brian should have got Briggo to put his name on them to ensure a monopoly , then He could have tripled the price .. anyway my son tried the one on Joonas' Bike and was impressed by how light and smooth it was . with any luck it should stop some of the returning to the pits gate for fannying around with adjustments .
  16. they have only just been unbanned . but I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Poole try to get them banned
  17. Joonas was using a Hydraulic Clutch at Leicester certainly got him out of the gate , having seen his starts i should think all the riders will be after them now , lets hope Horton has bought at least 7 to give the bees a head start on the inevitable queues that will form at the suppliers doors ..
  18. 2 word answer Suffice ? Margaret Vardy ,, well lets face it ,at least 1 controversial decision per meeting is her trademark
  19. some people get excited watching ballet . doesn't mean everyone does . those who do can see the skill and beauty of the dancing, those who don't just think it's boring , just like watching Stock cars . Judging by the crowds at world stock car finals 6,000 is it ? .it would appear that there are around 5,000 fans in total who travel around ,
  20. I went to stock cars once . after the initial novelty of all the noise and bluster wore off . I think about 10 laps in. I began to see it for what it really is .. not a lot . I think if overpowered cars driven round and round in circles by Gipsy scrap yard owners is what floats your boat , and it appears there are many whose boat it does float, since the terraces are often littered with the skin off their knuckles at the next speedway meeting , then all well and good . the damage they do to the track surface is more than offset by the revenue they bring in ,which helps keep the gates open for entertainment that requires a little more skill and a support base that has a bit more between it's ears
  21. If this goes ahead . which is doubtful looking out of my window 12 miles away .. nothing less than a big victory over Leicester will be acceptable as a fitting tribute To Nigel Boocock
  22. Litlle Ron used to go into the crowd and look for some away supporters every week at Middlesbrough. always had a big gang of kids following him round .. good fun and makes it a little more interesting hearing someone elses opinion for change instead of yorkie droning on .. it has been suggested to him many times but like everything else about Peter York . his ideas are firmly rooted in the 50s
  23. If the chairman of the SCB did ask you that ,(which I don't believe for 1 second ) that just shows how out of touch with reality the powers that control our sport are .No wonder speedway is on the slippery slope .. the chairman of the conrolling body of tiddywinks would know exactly what was happening at all the winkers venues .. but the Chairman of the SCB has to ask a supporter who was obviously identified by his red and yellow Bobble hat and scarf and other 80.s paraphernalia
