centre of gravity is lower in a laydown . but with modern crank balancing techniques accurate to 5 grams + or - there is no gravitational pull from the moving crank and piston , Top riders dont need the extra money , engine tuners have always given them ther best bits and the best service free, create the illusion that your engines are faster because you are a better tuner , and hey presto riders queueing up to pay ridiculous prices ,

Could not be better news for Heathens supporters your future prospects could not be in better hands , good luck to the club and Tony Mole in securing a new home for the Heathens

Rye House V Plymouth 25th May
speedibee replied to Dave Stummings's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Might be nice if someone enligthened Dave Robinson to the fact that we dont appreciate races being awarded after 1 and half laps , after travelling 112 miles for 3 second half races , especailly when there was no need to stop the race in the first place as Danny ayres was safely behind the fence -
I think a move to the Ricoh would be a mistake , As soon as Nuneaton Borough or Bedworth United the like got promoted , Speedway would get unceremoniously booted out , or if Coventry City decided to come back even at this late date . Coventry council threw millions at the football to keep them playing in the Ricoh , can you see them doing the same for speedway ? for me the main benefit of Brandon as a venue is the planning permission for sports which is already in place with little restriction , I cant see any possible new site that would afford dog , stock car and speedway promotions the same freedom . I would suggest lobbying Coventry council with a view to them buying the stadium , without planning permission a brownfield site cant be that valuable , but I cant see them taking much notice of one man who doesn't even live in Coventry and apart from the few poster on this thread no-one else seems bothered .

I have done the emails to Rugby council and the rugby Mp who is on the house of commons speedway committee , but as of yet nothing else . I was expecting to be a part of a large campaign by now and as i had heard nothing of any such co-ordinated protest I thought I would see if i could kickstart something by starting this thread , I'm shocked to be honest at the apparent lack of interest by other Coventry supporters but if I hear of anything I will definitely make you aware of it so you can add your weight to whatever campaign that may be !!

As a longtime Bees fan myself , I thank you for your efforts Colin , I just cannot see why the rest of the Bees supporters are so complacent , I do think they have the Can't happen here mentality . or some sort of misguided belief that at the eleventh hour Sandhu will have a consience and put people before profit for once , ( IMHO if they think that theres no hope for us already) you would think that, Having seen the plight of our near neighbours Cradley Heathens , Leicester, Long Eaton , trying without success to find new homes , they might just have seen the need to get started on the inevitable long drawn out battles ahead , or maybe they have just accepted that the developers have already won so whats the point in fighting , I cant understand how the "threat " of development , and that's all it is at this moment is being left unchecked

It's been more than 3 months since the announcement that Mr Sandhu had bought Brandon from the partner that didn't exist and started trying to trick the Bees supporters that A: he was somehow being forced to develop it : B doing anything whatsoever to do the impossible and find new home for the Speedway and Stock cars . No wonder Sandhu is so successful at making money. It has taken him a few months to distract the attention of the Coventry speedway supporters ,with empty promises and lies and here we are racing towards the end of year one of the 3 years Sandhu knows it will take to turn round the old covenants and gain the relevant permissions to build houses on the only place In the Coventry area where theres any hope of seeing speedway in the future , While we are all distracted by the events of a new season of speedway what do you think Sandhu is doing ? one thing is for sure he's not busy following the Bees he's too damn busy lobbying planning committes etc to get on with his development plans , Open your eyes Bees Fans your track is slipping away quicker than you realise , if you are gullible enough to believe Sandhu will keep his word then ask him and lets see what he has done , but if not get onto Rugby councll and protest at them allowing chnage of use , it's in your hands well it is for an ever decreasing length of time !!

Riders Begging Fans For Money
speedibee replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
oddly enough I have seen No recourse to public funds in action , the guy who owned the local shop brought his own parents and his wifes parents into the UK on the same deal . strange thing was both his father and father in law were struck down with diabetes within months and were too Ill to travel , so the whole lot had to stay here , all living on benefits and being treated by the NHS . and thanks for your offer of forgiveness , but I have no need fo it , being born and raised in a democratic country gives me the right to an opinion on anything i choose , if you dont like my opinion thats tough you'll just have to put up with it I'm afraid , I certainly dont need your Approval or forgiveness for any opinion I hold . maybe democracy is a little too complicated for you to understand -
Riders Begging Fans For Money
speedibee replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Riders are well paid , some put the money back into their equipment , and some spend it enjoying themselves , it's up to the individual to assess whether their gift will be spent wisely or not Oh shame . never mind you'll get your money back in benefits and off the NHS , -

speedibee replied to Hunty's topic in National League Speedway
Do you think if any of Scunthorpes raw novices goes on to become proficient and therefore have a £££s value they will be riding for Scunthorpe in the future ? Me. being the cynic that I am thinks not , they will be sold for profit . -
Cradley Heathens V Buxton Hitmen - National League (29/04/14)
speedibee replied to Hunty's topic in National League Speedway
So far theres only 2, particularly weak teams , 1, who made the the unilateral decision to turn the National League into a training scheme , and 1 (Buxton) who for reasons of budget unpopular track etc have done their best to track a team in keeping with the general standard of the national league . and who have only raced one meeting so far, and judging on past record will be taking steps throughout the season to ensure they field the best posssible standard team , so not too much cause for alarm yet , what we have here is a case of the tail wanting to wag the dog , -

speedibee replied to Hunty's topic in National League Speedway
thats what amateur series , southern track and MDL are for , If I want to see people training to be speedway riders I can watch that for nothing , but I dont ,so I expect a reasonable standard of racing for my £10 and that is national league .. well it was until all this train ing league nonsense came up -

If riders had a choice £10 a point to ride for scunny , buxton , or cradley . they would still choose cradley , theres more reasons riders want to go to cradley than money -
New Costs Coming Fir Riders
speedibee replied to barncooseboy's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
leathers are no more expensive than polyester suits , Polyester suits are easy to manufacture and cheap . but are sold as Kevlar (less than 6% ) to create the Illusion that they afford some safety and to justify the huge cost most of which is mark up , -
New Wage Structure For Speedway Riders
speedibee replied to manchesterpaul's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Riders have signed "wages" only deals in the past , I know of one who signed a wages only contract In the 80's , then rode like a girl until he got dropped but still had the wages contract , so continued to get paid until the end of the season . while setting up his tuning business , -

Theres a few who would take offence at their own thoughts , because seeming to be offended is their hobby , that's why this country is in such a state with politically correct nonsense ,

My local racetrack Mallory Park has just re-opened after the Nimbys got their way . the nimby's have been awarded compensation because the Local council did not protect them by limiting the numbers of days the racetrack could make a noise every one of the nimby's who have been awarded compensation , moved in to the village within the last ten years and two of them bought land and built houses there themselves , so now there is restriction on the amount of days use for the Circuit , this includes fishing on the lakes in the middle , What noise does fishing Make ?. and the council have back tracked on the number of agreed days and left the new company struggling to keep going , Local councils and Nimby's ..... come the glorious day comrades .
-
That's a shame because now there's absolutely nothing worth watching , without the noise it will easily be mistaken for your local Carnival procession
