I hope the many treasures of speedway memorabilia that Alf collected over the years will see the light of day somehwere in the not too distant future , I think it would be a fitting tribute to the man who was part of the fabric of speedway from the early glory days right up until more recent times , If he were to be afforded his own display area in the speedway musuem , where maybe some of the unusual and precious bits of memorabilia not just the photo's could be shown to the public . R.I.P. Alf , thanks for the memories ( And the money )

with any luck any remaining spaces in the Prem will get filled by British lads Unlike Australian speedway of course ,which is so well organised that anyone who wants to make a living out of speedway has to look to British speedway to do it , If Morris wants to hold out his begging bowl to Brtiish Speedway then he will just have to put up with what gets dished out , and if he doesn't like it , the answer is simple enough , go back where you came from you wont be missed

the only people who count as far as viewing figures are concerned are those 5,100 homes that are fitted with the equipment to send data back to BARB. 5,100 households among a population of 62 million absolute drop in the ocean , so whether you watched it or not won't make any difference , -
Have I missed something ? who is running Sheffield next year an unknown party or is Neil Machin staying on ?

The Bspa are a group of businessmen who are not very good at business , they don't have money to fund training schemes etc because when ever a significant windfall comes along , They allow other more shrewd businessmen or Tango coloured conmen to take it off them , The directors of BSI must spend a lot of time laughing at how they managed to get the Gp series out of the hands of the BSPA for a couple of magic Beans , It's got to be like all their Christmases have come at once , speedway promoters do all their training for them and pay their apprentices until they are of good enough standard to be sold as product , and even arranges it's own domestic calendar so as not to inconvenience them , and they have such little business sense that they sign up for a Tv deal which sees crowd levels for televised matches drop significantly yet tango man winds up with most of the money , how bright do you think a businessman would need to be to not sign a media rights deal that meant they had to pay media rights to show clips of their own assets on websites the media rights company forced them to buy ?

As the old saying goes , you can't make a silk purse from a sows ear , -
Not too difficult . I believe the Poles have already suggested it , and if we went with it the Danes ans Swedes would follow ,
-
Time to kick the F.I.M. into touch , they do very Little for Speedway and cost a fortune . MX has shook the leeches off and become self governing ,time speedway did the same

Ok lets try this third option . only if you feel confident though .. mark the centre rotor against the outside with a dot of tippex . ( so you dont put the case back !80 out ) remove the case that the electrics are bolted to with the electrics still in place , take the coil off and bolt it though one of the screw holes to the case , stick the case in the vice , and spin the rotor with an electric drill , hold the plug against the case and you should see sparks , (word of advice here , dont take the plug away from the case until the rotor has completely stopped or you get option 2 ) hope you can understand these instructions if anything is not clear , just ask
-
It's probably sparking , it's really difficult to turn the wheel fast enough and see the spark at the same time . heres a couple of suggestions for you , 1. assemble the known good ignition and try starting the bike , 2, get your wife to hold the plug not the cap and see if she yelps . . whats your skill level with speedway engines on a scale of 1 to 10 , because there is another way but you would need to be at least 6 .
-
Quite frankly I am past caring what you have to say , I have put you on ignore because I am tired of sseing you put words on the page that you attribute to me , I would tell you to find where I have said £4,000 to repair an engine but I wont because I know you can';t I never said it and it will just bring forth more gilded rubbish from you , so in future just post whatever you like and if anyone is gullible enough to take it in that's their lookout . Ill just go join another debate where people have a more realistic view
-
How are you testing for a spark ?
-
make your mind up Vince , first you accuse me of not backing up statements with facts and figures , then you spuriously claim I made the statement £4,000 to service an MX engine Point out the Post where I have said £4,000 to service an MX engine please . I'm sure the other posters would be interested to see that , and so would I since I cant remember quoting any figures at all . Something smells of vested interest here , your defensiveness and unwillingness to see another point of view , leads me to conclude you stand to profit somehow from the proliferation of MX equipment into speedway , Pete Seaton will be in touch soon to see about a supply of Mx engines
-
I don't doubt you do know the difference . I thought I did, but then someone explained to me that I was mistaken , I was convinced I saw some bikes at Leicester with MX engines squeezed into speedway frames I didn't think they look or sound like speedway bikes when they were being ridden , but i was assured by the same person they were 100% speedway in every way , he knows a lot more about speedway and engines than I do so I just took his word for it ..

F2s at Leicester again last night . heres a close -up

My question as to who will be the benficiaries this year is still unanswered , Although I have a good idea why . we shall see . -
Sometimes I wonder about you Long Eye , FFS have you not listened to a single word of Vinces lectures , why keep arguing If Vince says these engines are cheaper to run then they are cheaper to run . if he says they ride exactly like a speedway bike the that's what they ride like , you know nothing about speedway . so why not just listen to someone who does and stop being argumentative .
-
You may well have seen them and not realised what they were as they are 100% speedway , and if they weren't announced you would not be able to tell the difference .
