  1. On another thread there is a debate on could any other stadium in UK stage another GP. How big is the capacity of the different stadiums. I would think Ipswich would be one of the biggest
  2. BBC news at 9.00 mentioned it on their sports report
  3. Poor decision by Leicester putting Riss in Heat nine If Swindon got a 4-2 no tactical ride and Leicester would not have to go in one of the later heats with one rider
  4. If Klindt has a good night it will knock most people out of the competition
  5. Exactly correct ..he said I quote " Midland Sports Ltd managing director Charles Ochiltree said it was purely a business decision" Not one of the greats of Speedway was he . I would put him about the level of Stuart Bamford at Belle Vue another who sold his soul for a mess of potage What profits a man is he loses his soul yet gaineth the world
  6. Surely not the man would sold Leicester .and the promoter Martin Rogers not knowing about it until he read it in the paper
  7. Football teams only play a home match every two weeks which I presume is every other Saturday. so who are playing all these mid week matches that are on satellite or are they all playing away . Not really correct is it
  8. So on that basis if you go to the Epsom Derby you will see roughly 9 minutes racing in 3 hours Go to the Golf Open and follow a player round and you see roughly 4 minutes of action in 4 hours At Wimbledon you will see roughly 12 minutes of tennis in every hour. Hardly worth going then, on your way of thinking is it?
  9. £16 for 15 minutes .What ever are you talking about. I get to the track about 19.30 and leave roughly two hours later. Hardly 15 minutes is it
  10. I would think that the best pairs is 17.00 to 18.00 and European championship 18.00 onwards
  11. What about a Swedish rider partnering Bruce Penhall in a World Best Pairs final representing USA
  12. Emil Sayfudtinov £50 more Jason Doyle £50 less Peter Kildemand £50 more
  13. there is no way that you are going to get more people to go to Speedway with less meetings/ You can ask almost everyone and one of their biggest moans are why cannot we get a home meeting once a week.sometimes there is a 3 or 4 week gap. Less meetings do not reduce the costs of the stadiums and riders then earn less.
  14. w People seem to forget in years gone by riders had to get through qualifying rounds normal three to get to Wembley in the first place and any body could enter not the case today. There were many cases where top riders did not have score enough points to get through, not like today when the top rider just get picked automatically from one year to the next
  15. They only won world titles at Wembley as that was where all the world finals were held so they never had any other option
  16. I think that Diane Abbott might disagree with you on that on that point
  17. Although there are many sad stories of the early demise of Speedway riders there are a hell of a lot who live to a grand old age
  18. How about Cricket then when one teams scores more runs than their opposition yet lose
  19. Newcastle and Sunderland Stadiums have just been sold by William Hill to the Rueben Brothers for ten million pounds
