Hats off to Max Fricke, Colin Cook , Jason Doyle and Jack Holder and also the track curator Has there ever been a race without a crash that all four riders have led at anyone time.
Any other races to rival this
Although Scott Nicholls was one of the riders at last night's meeting and will be part hosting the Grand Prix on BT tomorrow I will be very surprised if he will say anything about the meeting. This GP meeting will be on for three hours and there will be no comment about it although it is the most spoken topic in Speedway this week. Its as if they are two different sports
Rather a silly thought . Surely you would want your riders to score as many points as possible Isn't that what Speedway is about which is to win matches not only for your team but for your wages as well
I could not believe that the Firs Stadium would close as when I went there in the late 50's the place was always packed on a Saturday night .I don't think I saw Ove Fundin get beat many times nor the Stars lose at home Happy days
One slight difference between Speedway in UK and Poland is who owns the stadiums. In Poland I think all are owned by the local authorities and in the UK only Belle Vue. That is the main difference between Speedway in the different countries. I remember at one time nearly all the promoters in Sweden went broke and once again the stadiums are owned by the local authorities. Worse still for UK is the land is worth much more here as we are a lot smaller in size than Poland and Sweden
No matter what people say about the decline of spectators at Speedway meetings this can be said about all sports in this country except possibly tennis. The decline is not only with Speedway
