Who if they have a choice would want to promote Speedway on a Monday night. This is the worst night of the week to get supporters out. That's why Belle Vue moved away from Monday's

Not quite true as we have not started yet and have got an injury -
Surely the tapes should be got rid off completely. How many times do they go up unevenly and always the tapes are slower up in the middle Even the grand Prix's have problems with this ancient device

Sadly you cannot equate the two. When Jack Parker won the match race title the competition was only 5 matches per season. When Ole Olen won it there could be 30 matches per season or even more. The latter competition turned out to be a Mickey Mouse event , then it eventually died out

1946 and first holder after the war was Bill Kitchen of Wembley who defeated Ron Johnson of New Cross 0-2 at Wembley in front of 65,000 people then 2-0 at New Cross and 2-0 in the decider at Wimbledon. He did not hold it for long as Jack Parker relieved him of it 0-2, 2-0 0-2. Both match races the home riders were beaten by their opponents

If you are a promoter why would you like your home matches shown live on BT TV if you do not get any money from BT' Surely you will be committing financial suicide with reduced crowds and no TV money

I have Sky +Sports Channel From Feb 2016 for £25.00 for 10 months. Then suddenly last August this goes up to £27..Then this Jan it goes up to £50.00 then last month it reaches £59..00. I phoned them this morning to cancel and it then offered me for 18 months, the same package for £34.00 or without Eurosport £29.00. I have cancelled and now await them to come back to me I will now change to BT. Anybody know if there are any good offers?

It's a terrible inditement that British Speedway sold out for a mess of pottage. Going back to when the individual Speedway finals which held at Wembley and all the profits were shared out among the British league teams .Now British Speedway has no control on the world championships and do no receive a penny from it. How did they let all this getaway?

Within a month both Danny King and James Sargent will both be riding in the Premier League -
There is no sport including Speedway that is better in a hlghlights package. You cannot beat a live show

Surely the answer to all this will be the local council to to give permission for a sports stadium to be turned into a housing estate. In my area you would have no chance of getting planning permission unless you had another new site for the sport in the near area Going back to Swindon they are building all the houses but no development for a new stadium My tennis club has just sold half their land and one of the restrictions is that no houses can be sold until the new tennis courts can be built

When I used to go to Wembley, there were 55,000 members of the supporters club and sometimes there was more that that at a meeting

Nearly all sports are struggling thanks to the power of Television and live matches including football. My local football club (about 10th tier) used to get up to 2,000 spectators in the 1950's ,now they are pleased to get 100. The Sunday league used to have 36 teams now 12. Essex cricket used to play at Colchester , Clacton, Brentwood, Southend, Westcliff , Ilford and Chelmsford . They have now dropped Colchester leaving just Southend and Chelmsford. I went to a county table tennis match between Essex and Surrey and then Middlesex which had a 1000 people attending each. The local netball folded about 10 years ago There used to be 6 tennis teams now there is only one The water polo team used to get up to 600 supporters now nearly nil So the only sports really being successful are the top tier in football
