  1. The Sky TV coverage starts at 5.30pm so I would imagine it will be tapes-up at 6pm.
  2. Best way is to record it using Sky Plus, download it to dvd and edit out the commercials and Keith Heuwen
  3. The pitch at the new Wembley will not be so easily removable as that in the MS which almost certainly rules Speedway out sine die.
  4. We are going on the Swindon coaches and it is indeed a 1pm departure from the Abbey Stadium.
  5. If Sam's Bar is indeed closed I assume that everyone will pitch up at the Price of Wales? Does the POW have any external drinking facilities as it seems a shame to be stuck indoors on what looks like being a warm, albeit cloudy, afternoon?
  6. Better coverage can be found by tuning in to BBC Radio Swindon on 103.6FM or on the web at bbc.co.uk/wiltshire
  7. The commentator on Screensport used to be Rob McCaffery.
  8. Tend to find the middle or top tiers are best however the worst seats we have had were on the 2nd bend behind what would be the goal if it was a footy or rugby match. They seemed to be more squashed together than those on the backstraight. Only trouble with the top tier is getting the ale back to your seat without some spillage occuring
  9. I think that you would find that the first rider you mention in this example would actually get 25 points for winning the meeting not the 13 points that you state. The second rider would indeed finish on 15 points.
  10. I am not one of these people who has a go at Nicki all the time but he went into that corner 'coach and horses' style and his jovial reaction after left no doubt as to what he was doing. Luckily Bjarne wasn't injured although the move did cost my mate £35 as he had a tenner on TRick at 5/2 who was home and hosed until Nicki's 'here I come, ready or not' plunge. Makes you think that they should be allowed to award races in GP's.
  11. Barry Davies, the longtime BBC football commentator.
  12. The old format was much better. Under the new format you are going to get pretty much the same 8 riders making the semi's each time which is going to get somewhat tiresome after a while. Sausage, eggs and boring.
  13. I believe it goes on number of heat wins, seconds etc and if it is still tied who beat who in the heat featuring the tied riders.
  14. This topic is covered on the betting thread, he has injured his back and is sitting out the practise today. He will decide tomorrow whether to attempt riding or not.
  15. Before shelling out your hard-earned on TRick you should be advised that he injured his back in Sweden this week and is doubtful as he can hardly get on a bike. Daily Mirror today states that he is likely to at least miss the pratice today. I think that bearing this in mind I will have a few sheckles on Nicki at 8/1. He was flying round Blunsdon in H13 and H15 last night.
  16. The 'Free Bet' offers that bookies normally offer when you sign up with them usually means that you have to put on say a tenner of your own folding and they will add another tenner to it. As someone stated above you get nowt for nowt these days. I have to say that TRicky Disco looks a steal at 5/1.
  17. There is a Travel Inn within sight of the stadium, you should be able to get a family room for the night for under £50 quid. Link: http://www.premiertravelinn.com/pti/hotelI...o?hotelId=24208
  18. Prices for the UK leg of the SWC at Swindon on Sunday 31st July are as follows: Adults £22, Children £10. No word on other concessions as yet.
  19. That would be good, we could go down to White Horse on West Wycombe High Street before the event for some beer and laydeez.
  20. It is a sad day for Speedway when somebody who was born in Bristol wins the world title. Wouldn't be quite as bad if he actually rode under the flag of his country of birth I guess!
  21. Bizarrely Ladbrokes have priced up this contest and go as follows: Masarna 1/7 Draw 14/1 Vms Elit 4/1
  22. Did any other shrewdies make a decent wedge by backing Sweden on Saturday? They were 4/1 before the competition started and could still be backed at 9/4 on Saturday. Of course I wanted GB to win but at least some of us had the defeat eased by trousering a tidy amount of folding.
  23. I hope its Millard, I've got £20 at evens that it is him and not Pearson from Orion!
