  1. I believe the term is "Supply and Demand"
  2. Yes, but the Swedes haven't got Jim Lynch as Manager, have they
  3. Does anyone know the team line-ups for tonight at all? I can't seem to find them anywhere.
  4. Ruddy hell Rico, there is optimism and then there is rank stupidity!!! Are you down the New Inn for the proceedings tonight?
  5. If I thought that GB had any hope of qualifying I would get behind them but despite the Jingoistic nature of this thread we have absolutely no chance whatsoever. I shall therefore be cheering on the Swedes who are carrying my £40 at 15/8 which I invested with SkyBet yesterday. 16/1 for GB to win the meeting is surely a misprint? There is a zero missing off of the end of that price!
  6. Absolutely Leanne. And in London hotel rooms are plentiful and are quite often more than reasonably priced at weekends as the bulk of their custom comes from people staying there during the working week. Cardiff has been very good to speedway over the past few years but you do get that feeling now of being 'taken for granted'.
  7. I think this is a great idea. The whole Cardiff experience has become a bit stale recently with the lack of hotel rooms meaning they can charge whatever they like for accomodation and the lack of a decent train service after the meeting which means you either have to fork out loads for a room if you can get one, or get the coach which doesn't get back to Swindon until stupid o'clock. Also the fact that the GP is in Wales rather than London affects sponsorship and media coverage as the hacks don't want to move out of comfy London for the evening and sponsors don't want to drag their corporate clients all that way.
  8. There are various odds available on the websites of Ladbrokes, William Hill and Skybet. The latter also has the odds for each heat. Adams at 6/1 with Ladbrokes will be my bet.
  9. Milton Keynes? They will probably just go out and buy a club and move it miles away from it's heritage and history
  10. Probably due to the fact he can't drive to any away meetings
  11. Excuse me for being stupid but I fail to see what on earth Gollob's performance on Saturday has to do with the price of spaghetti hoops.
  12. There is no question that if Speedway was anywhere near as big a sport as football in this country then the press would have made sure Middlo never managed the national side again given the failures over successive seasons. GB's performance in tast weeks World Cup Final was downright embarrassing. It's time for change, it's time for Rosco.
  13. Indeed. Less offensive to our teutonic bretheren than 'Bomber'.
  14. Ladbrokes Odds: Hans Andersen 5/2 Nicki Pedersen 5/2 Jason Crump 6/1 Leigh Adams 13/2 Greg Hancock 9/1 Chris Harris 14/1 Jaroslaw Hampel 16/1 Andreas Jonsson 20/1 Matej Zagar 20/1 Bjarne Pedersen 25/1 Scott Nicholls 33/1 Tomasz Gollob 33/1 Antonio Lindback 66/1 Rune Holta 66/1 Wieslaw Jagus 80/1 Lubos Tomicek 125/1 £10 win Mr Clean, £5 e/w Monkey Harris.
  15. I sincerely hope the fact that Pearson has done the commentationg on Monday and last night does not mean that we have to put up with the moronic Millard tomorrow night
  16. GB will finish 4th tomorrow night, and that is the only certainty about the meeting really. Hopefully the Poles will win it and line my pocket with some winnings from Mr William Hill. I really hope the dirty Danes don't win it again and the only time I want to see an Australian with a World Championship trophy is at the end of the season when Mr Clean is atop the rostrum after the final SGP.
  17. I am frankly staggered by the hysteria over last night's result. We were expected to win comfortably and did win comfortably. We were 1/4 to win for God's sake. If we manage to finish anywhere other than 4th on Saturday then that may be cause for some celebration but we didn't beat any team of note last night and people appear to have taken leave of their senses and gone mad.
  18. Hope that £20 did go to charity and not the bookies And by God did that meeting ever go on? I was bored senseless by the end and felt sorry for the people who travelled any distance to get there, it must have been after midnight before they got out of the car park. Very poor organisation.
  19. You may as well give the £20 to charity rather than to the bookies on Sweden. Tonight will be another borefest, GB will win easily, Sweden comfy in second and the only possible bit of competition on the night being the Cold War for 3rd place.
  20. Thankfully there was some decent boxing on ITV4 and ITV1 to flick over to. A truly dire meeting
  21. I can't see us winning anything until the inspirational Rosco takes over as manager. How long has Middlo been in charge now without us winning owt? If it was football they would be clamouring for his head by now.
