Bjarne Out, Hougaard In
Adder replied to Rob B's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Hardly matters, only the top 2 go through to the final. -
'No' would have sufficed.

Swc Race-off
Adder replied to Danish Webmaster's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
It is a shame that the Danish team has been weakened. It would have been a good three-way battle if they had been at full strength but now it's a shoo-in for Australia and Sweden. I'm sure Sky will hype up the battle for 3rd place between GB and Denmark but frankly, who gives a monkey's toss? Neither will qualify. -
When do GB announce their team for Thursday evening? Is there a set time as in other more professional sports or will it just be squeezed out at some random juncture?

Will Hans Ride In A World Cup On Saturday?
Adder replied to krompa's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Does anyone know if Hans will be fit for Thursday's Race-Off? I'm assuming Nicki won't be after seeing the pics of his leg on the net yesterday. If Hans AND nicki are out it looks like a shoo-in to the final for the Aussies and Swedes. -
18.
-
Should be a good value meeting tonight with two contests for the price of one. Should be close between Aus and Polska for the win and also close between GB and Slovenia for 3rd.

Better to be a bridesmaid than not getting an invite to the wedding.

King was dreadful last night and his inclusion in the GB team beggers belief. If this is the best that Mr Lyon can do then it is a very sad state of affairs. It's time for change, It's time for Rosco. Why on earth he wasn't given the job is beyond my wit. Slovenia will beat us at Peterborough next Monday and we will be out on our a**e.

Nicholls V Sayfutdinov
Adder replied to Cornishman's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The incident has certainly gained speedway more column inches in the national press and features on national news than it has had for many a year. No such thing as bad publicity! Totally agree that Ashley Holloway should be reprimanded though, he was bang out of order. -
Alcohol At Cardiff
Adder replied to loyal royal's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Woth a crowd of over 40,000 there are bound to be one or two incidents but people do seem to be going OTT. Spillage is always going to happen whether it be alcoholic or soft drinks given the limited room per seat. At any sporting event you are going to get some who have had a few sherberts. That's just the way it is. You either put up with it or stay at home, same as any Saturday night in any town centre across the land. Some people do need to be more tolerant i'm afraid. -
Another Saturday, another crap GP. If it wasn't for the fact that I had had a bet on Hancock I would have totally lost interest long before the end. If I had been watching at home rather than the pub I would have turned over. And the use of Millard by Sky Sports is unforgivable. Does he have any other word in his vocabulary than 'disappointment'? He used it three times in two laps once when referring to Nicholls. Anybody watching that for the first time on Saturday night wouldn't be tuning in for the next one. And who can blame them?

Truly awful. As has been pointed out it did look as it had been filmed on a mobile phone, the ever changing camera angles made you lose track of what was happening and the graphics were too big for the screen. All rather embarrassing really, I don't know if that is the usual standard of broadcast on Motors TV. I'm surprised it ever got cleared for transmission given the dreadful quality.

Could be worse, we had a blanket of snow over Swindon this morning. A most unwelcome start to the new working year having to navigate that on the way to work.

Cheers. Unfortunately not!

More the fact I've been away for 11 days and actually need to catch up on some work.

When are the other legs of this Championship being held (apologies if it's already posted I don't have time to hunt back through the thread!). TIA.

Gelsenkirken Refunds
Adder replied to westhamboy66's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Am I the only person who finds it ironic that IMG are still advertising tickets for the Gelsenkirchen GP on the Speedway GP Website?!?! http://www.speedwayworld.tv/german2008/ -
Gelsenkirken Refunds
Adder replied to westhamboy66's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
As Leanne says there is no chance of people getting any travel or accomodation costs back. The amount of football and speedway matches/meetings I have been to over the years that have been called off on arrival are legion but I certainly wouldn't expect any obligation for any costs other than my ticket back. It's the gamble you take when you travel x amount of miles for an event be it sporting, music, whatever. -

Chris Holder For Next Weekend's Gp
Adder replied to KrisB's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Holder has had a chance to qualify for the GP series by rights and wasn't good enough to do so so why are people falling over each other to get him in as a wild card? There are far better riders in the world than Chris Holder at present that should be above him in the pecking order. The fact that he has an 8.5 point average in a very diluted British Elite League doesn't suddenly make him a World Champion. -
