  2. Nope, definitely not Rode Wimbledon away 1971. Scored 1. Probably a Dons junior who stood in for the meeting.

  8. Hell rode in one more match, scoring 3 at MK Broadbelt scored 4 at M'boro and then was injured at home to Berwick.
  9. Robins 87-1 is Stephen Rose 87-2 is Matthew Cross
  10. Henk Bangma's Swindon career only lasted 3/4 of a race at P'boro before he crashed and badly smashed his leg. He did appear for Exeter previously though.
  11. Dybeck turned up at Blunsdon but was told to poke it when he demanded more cash. Penny did actually make 1 League appearance for Stoke (scored 0), they did sign a rider called Fredrik Pettersson who never actually rode a meeting after getting the push after Press and Practice day. Also Sheffield famously used R/R for pretty much the whole season after 'signing' Sergei Kuzin.
  12. Stein Roar Pedersen - broke down en route and had only 1 ride. Didn't ride again.
  13. All still about, I'm pretty certain
  14. My favourite rider as a nipper. Big sidies and white leathers and boots. His BL career (65 onwards) was BRIAN LEONARD Poole(65),West Ham(65,66,67,68,69,70),Hackney(69),Newport(70),Wembley(70,71),Swindon(72,73,74,7 6),Leicester(75),Oxford(76,77,78) Born NEWBURY ENG 19.02.1946
  15. Hi Bob For Poole 8 at O*ford 4 home to Cradley 8 home to West Ham 2 at Wimbledon For West Ham 1 at Coventry
  16. Alf rode 4 League matches for Poole and 1 for West Ham in '65
  17. JOE OWEN Barrow(73,74),BelleVue(74),Newcastle(75,76,82,83,84),Hull(75,76,77,78,79,80,81), Hackney(75),Leicester(82,83), EllesmerePort(85) TOM OWEN Barrow(72,73,74),Hull(74,75,76,77,78),Newport(74,75),Newcastle(75,76,77,78,79,80 ,81,82,87),Stoke(83,84,85,86),Wolves(84)
  18. Speedway Star says Olsen fell in heat 3 whilst well in the lead. It also says the injury was a dislocated shoulder and ligament damage, not a broken collarbone.
  19. He rode for Hackney in 1967 too before retiring.
  20. He'll be 81 if he's still about.
  21. The matches involving the lesser nations would be absolute procession. There's no way Germany, Russia or The Czechs could muster a team of 7 to give the others a match. Plus it would be significantly more expensive.
  22. Former Edinburgh, Glasgow, O*ford and Poole rider Oyvind Berg has died. http://www.edinburghspeedway.co.uk/news/article.asp?id=489
