  1. Bill Andrew didn't ride for Exeter Poole, Newport and Halifax
  2. I was of the impression that the Res could replace one rider only, be it owing to either injury or poor form.
  3. Did you have your balaclava on again then Matty??
  4. Another shocking performance from Stead on the World Stage, to finish behind the likes of Judas D and Nieminen is embarrassing. Vastly overrated, just isn't going to cut it at the top level. EL 2nd Heat Leader at best. As Orion says, "The worst Number 1 since Mistletoe And Wine!"
  5. Lord Lucan Hancock, Crump, Nicki, Jonsson Howe to get 2 and Mr Clean to bow out in the Semi's
  6. Definitely down. I know of a fair number from Swindon alone who are giving it a miss this year. Novelty value has worn thin
  7. Yes, Canterbury 1969 only
  8. He pulled out reckoning he's not ready for that level yet
  9. There were two David Ashby's

  11. For Cov Nicholls Harris Rico Kennett Howe Stead on Standby For Poland Nicholls Harris Rico Stead Kennett Howe/AN Other - On Standby
  12. I'm pretty sure that i read that Bert Edwards is still about. In his 80's i believe.
  13. I remember Doug being at 5 for the majority of 1974, paired with Arnold Haley. Bob Valentine at 1 and Reg Wilson at 3.
  14. Yeah, definitely Laszlo Munkasci at the Badgers in the mid 60's. Also rode for Belle Vue in '66 and Nelson in '68.
  15. Judas D follows up on his form for Reading last night i see How's the song go?, "it's just the same ol' story"
  16. I believe so. A friend of mine worked with him at Rover, that was what they were informed. Also the local rag reported it as such.
  17. Definitely not Ian Gledhill. I can think of Craig Hodgson, Kevin Price, David Smart and Ingar Hvamstad who also took their own lives in addition to those already mentioned.
  18. Knowing Speedway it was probably decided by alphabetical order!
  19. That may be so, all i'm saying is from what i saw (albeit one meeting) i wasn't massively impressed, he scored 6 from 5. On checking the programme, he's actually 21. I think you're getting confused with Emil Saijfutdinov
  20. Saw Ivanov ride at Tarnow a couple of weeks ago. Looked competent but no world beater IMO
  21. Don't think so. I'm pretty sure Stuart Mountford was Australian.
  22. Pete Bailey was killed in 1974 in a car accident just outside Brandon Stadium if i remember rightly. He was an ex Ipswich and Birmingham rider.
  23. Ron Mountford passed away in 1993. Rick France is still about
