As he took his own life some 7 years after retiring, i'd be surprised if the fact he rode Speedway was a contributory factor.

There was definitely a league in 1976. I seem to remember Bert Harkins competed in it (for Bakerfield or something similar). And i have Eddie Reeves and Dave Giffard in my head as having done likewise.

Dryml and Puk should be scrabbling around 14th and 15th. 3 very dull qualifiers, nobody new breaking into the Gp's. Lindgren should be a shoe-in for a nommo with maybe Kasprzak and 2 of the non top 8 finishers
