  1. Rider's averages for 2017 will not include meetings from 2016. All riders will remain on their PL, Assessed or Converted (EL x 1.4) average until they have completed 4H & 4A matches.
  2. To be fair to Colin, he originally did audio tape recordings before joining with.... JSD Video? So he was probably more used to doing a full description of the action. "And that's a nasty, twisting fall........"
  3. The only way that the team total could stay at 50 points would be if Premiership averages were multiplied by 1.4 throughout the season.
  4. 6 exclusions out of 88 races for Coventry is hardly 40%. (6.818% actually)
  5. Or Premiership 1.4 x Championship prices! (Just kidding!)
  6. If 50 points is the initial Declaration Limit then I would suggest that somewhere around 42.5 would be the re-declaring limit. The only problem is what if a rider who has achieved a 'real' average (after 4H & 4A?) gets injured and you need to replace him with a new rider whos average is EL x 1.4.
  7. So, when I win the lottery and have a team of:- Sayfutdinov, Woffinden, Doyle, Iversen, Nicki Pedersen, Garrity and Robert Lambert, that would be OK?
  8. My mistake, sorry! I've just had it clarified by a Referee that TR's are allowed in the EL Play Off's...But not in PL!
  9. So you think he was lying in the interview when he stated that he had not contacted any other club and that no club had contacted him?
  10. I believe Jason actually caught the fence with his hand after being forced out so wide.
  11. And who will be missing from the Coventry line up on Friday? As for my hair colour? Obviously silver + shale red = blondish! (Because I'm worth it!) Never before seen riders having to wear goggles just to watch a race!
  12. On one hand I agree with this post, but playing Devil's Advocate, is it fair that (without Friday's meeting being Rained-Off) Lakeside would have been twice facing a weakened Coventry side whereas other Play-Off contenders have not had that 'benefit'? ATB Dave.
  13. Yeah! Could just have sent him a text! Usually solves any problems!
  14. Summers is 'allowed' to ride if Leicester wish to use him now that he is available. Wolves took the option to use Hansen. They could have used Masters, but chose not to. ATB Dave
  15. Maybe others were considering moving in for him, but were blocked by the promoter of the club that holds his registration?
  16. How would the track be made bigger when there is the greyhound track around the outside?
  17. Hindsight is a wonderful thing! I wonder how many Coventry fans (me included) had pencilled in James Sarjeant (6pts) for Heat 14 rather than Josh Bates (2 pts) ATB Dave
  18. Krzysztof is on an assessed average until he has ridden 4H & 4A. The latest info I have is that Rolling Averages now only include the previous season (2015). As he did not ride in England last season his 2014 average applies until the 4H & 4A is achieved. ATB Dave
  19. I believe that this is only a recent concession to the 'rules' regarding the showing of meeting footage, but with a restriction on how long that footage can be displayed. ATB Dave
  20. Like the idea of lasers at the tapes and behind the rear wheel, but would a laser be visible to riders and fans on a sunny Summer afternoon?
  21. In an interview I did with Charles Ochiltree, back in the Good Old Days of the Speedway Mail, the C.O. explained that the Brandon Bee was chosen more to wind up the Birmingham promotion at the time than for any other reason. Birmingham of course having the 'B' emblem on Racejackets. ATB Dave
  22. I spoke to St. John of Buildbase at the Track Shop a couple of weeks before Christmas. I asked him about the 'new' stadium plans and although he did not go into specifics, his reply of "Keep The Faith" is enough to keep me optimistic about the post-2016 future of Coventry Speedway. ATB Dave
  23. Cardiff Student accommodation is now available to book. Senghennydd Hall (Single En-suite Rooms) Cost: £51.26 for two nights (Friday & Saturday) Free Parking & Free Wifi Less than a mile from Cardiff Centre. http://www.cardiff.ac.uk/conferences/bandb/senghennydd-hall-and-senghennydd-court.html ATB Dave
