This Seasons Number 7s
Gambo replied to ProudtobeaBrummie's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It is the same for both Leagues this year. -
Your original assumption is correct. Two Groups of 4 = 12 Heats Winner A v 2nd B Winner B v 2nd A S/F Winners to Final. 4,3,2,0. Scoring in all heats. 15 Races in all.

I doubt if most riders will have a 'proper' average by April. Some teams will be lucky to have completed 4H & 4A by the end of May. And those that have may still have a rider or two that have not completed 4H & 4A due to injury/Poland/DU. Then what happens?

Do Australians still need a British club to be able to fulfill Visa obligations?

James Sarjeant is now without a club at all!

Bring back Durno and his elastic band! Nobody ever tries to jump the start when there is a spanner on the end of the elastic. (And I don't mean the person holding the elastic...Honest!)

Coventry fans can't forget the 2010 AGM as it was the catalyst for events that happened this winter!

The FIM have released an App to follow live Ice Speedway Results and Championship standings etc. Search on your App store for FIM ISG.

They can drag this out for as long as it takes if it gets Coventry back on track at Brandon!
-
Hopefully! Can't see why the BSPA can't issue the fixture list with Coventry included. Far easier to take 28 fixtures out of the list if Coventry do not run, than to put in 28 fixtures if there is a late stay of execution.

Fear not Gem, I saw an advert in the paper the other day asking for volunteers/participants for a second series of Naked Attraction.
-
And yet you liked to watch 'Naked Attraction'?

So sad to hear of the passing of Bryn (AKA The Dark Knight and others). He always gave the 'Coventry Press Mafia' a mention in some way in his programme notes when the Bees were visiting Kings Lynn, Oxford or Lakeside, and caused me great embarrassment at the Isle of Wight this year by announcing my attendance over the microphone! Top Man, that Bryn! R.I.P.

Re point 2. Would his family (if they had any interest in Brandon Estates) call the police?

Does British Speedway Have Future?

I think that helmet cams have been banned due to their detrimental effect on a helmets ability to absorb impact. -
Speedway World Cup 2017
Gambo replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Not sure if it has been mentioned anywhere else but SWC Reserves (who must be U21) will now be able to replace a rider at any time. -
And if your team has two or more meetings in a week......?
-
Due to the new average assessments (PL & EL x1.4) previous season's results will not be counted (this season) and all riders will gain a new Green Sheet Average once they have achieved 4 Home & 4 Away matches. I presume that their final average for 2017 will include ALL of their League matches, whereas 2016 averages only comprised their last 20 Matches. Whether Rolling Averages return for 2018 remains to be seen.
-
The format for next year is the pre-FDR format. (As used in the PL last year) Not sure if the lowest average reserve has to be at 7 and/or whether No.7 'Protection' for Heat 4 will be maintained.

Speedway Referee Numbers In Decline
Gambo replied to Dickie Head's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Eleven applicants for Referee training being interviewed this week by Neil Vatcher. -
A couple of my observations from a very enjoyable night at a packed NSSC Question Time. Neil Vatcher confirmed that one of his main tasks this winter is to weed out the rules that conflict with others. 11 applicants for trainee referee positions to be interviewed next week. No TR's in ANY aggregate matches, Premiership or Championship. Brando questioned the sports attitude to Sponsors.......should be recognised as Corporate Partners as in most other sports and have their profile made more prominent, particularly in TV matches. Brando also stated that over the years SKY had put millions of £'s into the sport but there was little indication of it being of benefit to the sport as a whole. (Mainly going to riders? he suggested.) Positive thoughts from Jim Lynch now that the problems over Coventry stadium seem to have been resolved. Seems he was involved in certain ways with the team building. In my view, suggestions that this event could have been 'streamed' would have resulted in more guarded responses to certain questions put to the panel. Well done to the NSSC and to the many fans who attended, boosting the funds for their Young Lions sponsorship.

Not sure if you are misunderstanding. It doesn't mean that a rider in both Leagues will have a combined average. They will end up with a Premiership average calculated over 32 matches, rather than the 20 match Rolling Average. Similarly they would end the season with a Championship average, calculated over 36 matches.

Forgot to add that all relevant League Matches will count. 32 Premiership, 36 Championship.
