  1. While I agree it is sad to see a rider like Lanham out of a job, Somerset aren't beholding to him, especially when he isn't their asset. OK neither is Jensen but if the new rider chips in a few extra points that could make all the difference. I wouldn't be surprised to see Lanham fixed up soon.
  2. Probably the same two or three as me, though back in the day most teams had a rider who didn't mind the physical side of speedway.
  3. Pedersen made a hard move on Hancock, Hancock didn't like it and clumped Pedersen. Hancock was fined, that shouldve been the end of the matter IMO. Never like to look at years gone by and claim it was always better then, but with riders now being red carded or banned from meetings there would riders from years gone who would spend more time banned than riding.
  4. I don't disagree with you, but surely a club official should know when to keep a professional silence, though could could say the same about a rider who didn't exactly enjoy riding a particular track. But at least its made for some good debate.
  5. Go back to pages 3 and 4 on this thread, there`s a couple of links to cheaper accommodation that might be worth a look.
  6. I posted an article from the riders own website on another thread the other day saying he expected to be back riding by early August, obviously that hasn't happened. In last nights programme it says the club " simply don't know if and when he will be back racing in 2015 and neither does Claus who is still troubled with his knee injury". I think its fair to say that with no announcements from rider or club there`s every chance we wont see him back this season. But your right, running with R/R for so long has been an error.
  7. Once again points from R/R have been a weak point, though on a positive Jorgensen looks well suited to the No1 position, don't rule him out of finishing well up in next months PLRC at Sheffield.
  8. I am sure others will give you the advice you require, but why not stay in Cardiff, as at the end of it all, that's where the GP is and I would bet once you factor in train fares, taxi fares you might not see that much difference in prices.

  10. Rae is entitled to his opinion, just as anyone else is, though as he is a Berwick official it might have been better that he said nothing and let Cook look the fool to some. Looking at social another rider riding last has described the track as very rough, which lead to arm pump in one of his rides.
  11. Looks like you could be on a fishing trip also, but I agree with you about comments from a Berwick official, his comments have done himself or the club few favours.
  12. He`s not walking to Poland fixtures is he, riding at Rye House on a Saturday isn't the problem, trying to fit Rye`s fixtures at Newcastle, Glasgow etc around his Polish fixtures might be though obviously where there`s a clash his Rye fixture will take priority.
  13. Risager comes in to guest for the injured Thornblom and Branford comes in for the injured Sissis who was to have been riding as a replacement for the unavailable Hall.
  14. Yes, couple of races between Cook and Doolan in Hts 11 & 13 were excellent.
  15. Indeed he did, in fact I think Cook described the Berwick track earlier this year as excellent. We can argue all day and all night about Cook`s remarks on social, though it probably doesn't do the club many favours to see one of its official's going onto the same social media to respond to Mr Cook.
  16. I don't carry a torch nor pitchfork for Cook bit maybe a bit conctructive criticism might be more suitable in future, he is IMO the best rider at PL level right now. But you are right, another home defeat is what was required if we are to avoid dropping further down the league, losing riders didn't help of course.
  17. Firstly I hope all the riders injured last night are able to take part in their meetings this week, looks like Carr, Garrity, Thornblom were among the walking wounded, haven't heard about Sissis. Obviously the welfare of the injured riders come first but its difficult to enjoy a meeting that drags on for as long as last nights did, that said a brilliant ride from Doolan to first catch and then over take Cook was certainly the highlight. Cook does seem to have a thing about the Berwick track and takes to social media on a regular bases to give his opinions, great rider, big points scorer but maybe a tad immature. Klindt and the returning Bellego were embarrassing, which in the case of Bellego, was surprising. Garrity and Bates seem passengers on their bikes and show very little control which sadly lead to two untidy accidents. It may be in the rules, and as we all know speedway rules must be followed by all clubs at all times but it seems unfair to me that Berwick weren't allowed to use Kieran Douglas in Hts 11,12 and in-particular Ht2 where Berwick lost Liam Carr through no fault of his own as IMO its the lack of the Berwick rider in Ht 2 that cost Berwick at least a point.
  18. Nonsense, this forum and in-particular Berwick`s threads should be a smorgasbord of opinions, good and bad, those that find that hard to digest maybe shouldn't come on here.
  19. Hardly comparable though is it, in most cases the football and/or rugby team will travel together and where long distance are involved the team will stay in a hotel near by the night before the match, as would the tennis player as most tennis tournaments last a week or so in the same venue. I am sure Lawson left home in ample time to get to Armadale but as has already been mentioned there were unavoidable and unexpected delays on the A1 near Edniburgh which I`m sure made a lot of people late, not just a speedway rider trying to get to a meeting.
  20. Truly rotten day weather wise in Berwick today with constant rain since last night, thankfully the forecast is much better for tomorrow. This rain will die out over night leaving Saturday a bright day with some sunshine at times.
  21. Your right, Stead has always been spectacular to watch round Berwick, though his replacement Mr Cook, who IMO is currently the best rider in the PL, ain`t to shabby either.
  22. Good grief, this rain keeping everyone in doors has a lot to answer for.
  23. I think its fair to say the chances of Berwick making the play offs are at best slim. http://sheffieldspeedway.co/news.php?extend.1924 Looks like our friends are targeting an away win tomorrow night.
  24. To think where he was a couple of weeks ago to where he is now is a miracle, but if Lewis shows the same determination I am sure he will be fighting fit in no time.
