  1. Berwick will need to keep any loss down to no more than 10 - 12pts if they are to recover in the second leg, a second where it looks like they will be without Richard Hall who will be racing in the Longtrack GP Challenge, though on current form I see a tonking today.
  2. Agree with you, R/R very seldom works long term as has been proved. I would imagine Berwick have failed to hit their break even figure on more than one occasion this season and as you say with play off hopes over crowd level will dwindle even more than they have at times this season.
  3. As the previous two posters have said lack of race winners was Berwick`s undoing last night, if you provide only four race winners round your own track you don't deserve to win a meeting and Berwick didn't last night. Doolan, Jorgensen etc actually produced scores a second string should but we had no fire power at the top of the team and R/R failed to score the points Vissing would have. On a positive note it was good to see Edberg put in something like the performance he is capable of, but we need that meeting in meeting out. Last nights defeat makes making the play offs very difficult, a defeat next week against the Monarchs will end any lingering hopes of making the top six.
  4. Especially when we are running R/R, a defeat tonight would almost certainly end any hopes of a play-off finish.
  5. Fair enough but if Jorgensen was to blame I would say so, but I think it was a racing incident no more no less. The most important thing is that Lambert seems to have no lasting injuries.
  6. Haven't watched it back on tv yet but from my position there was contract all the way into the first corner, no more than a racing incident IMO. Sad that Lambert had to withdraw as he was a pleasure to watch, and there is no doubt that Peterborough would've won by a more comfortable margin had he completed his last three rides.
  7. Big meeting for Berwick, especially after going down at home last Wednesday. I am sure Hall cant have three poor meetings and a row, so should get back to his good scoring, but his reserve partner needs to prove himself. He has had his critics in recent days, the best to answer them is with big scores on track.
  8. That's your best one yet! There used to be Colemanballs, we should have Scremballs on here. Erm, the Promoters are lifelong supporters, so do you suggest they give up one of those "roles". Also, the many supporters who help promote, should they give one of their "roles". You'd have Berwick Speedway gone in a flash. And I think you would be happy. To be fair Tsunami this poster seems to have cornered the market in stupid statements, as he will now prove.
  9. For those who missed their chance to have a word with Sky Sports commentary team Pearson and Tatum will have their chance over the winter. They will both be coming to the Black and Gold as part of their stage tour.
  10. And I got a spare rain off ticket for your free programme this Saturday . Once you get good enough maybe you could knock out a couple of tunes when the tractors are going round.
  11. Why the need to get personal, your team won and won well last night, I would just be grateful for that.
  12. I think we should be hesitant about putting Carr straight back into PL racing, he did well in last weeks meeting lets not forget he is returning from an injury that many thought would keep him out way longer than it has, at least Carr will give 100% in each race no matter if he is last, something we don't get with Edberg.
  13. Yes I agree, the situation Ashworth finds himself certainly brings home the good work the Ben Fund does, and the reason why it is there. Berwick have been up with the more generous givers for this cause over the last few seasons.
  14. Don't think it was quite rubbish, against some of the pap we`ve had to sit through this season it was quite good really. I will try to watch it over again as it was on tv to see if I get a different view.
  15. I agree I don't think the actual racing was all that bad, there were positives, I liked the style of parade ( I hope they continue with it ), and I think the two minute clock on the centre green is something that every track should have at every meeting. Talk about history repeating itself.
  16. Lets face it Berwick fans an 8pt defeat flattered us big time, Peterborough would've won by a far more comfortable a margin had the had Lambert for his final three rides. This kind of result has been coming for a while, six man teams don't work long time, especially if one of the reserves have an off night, last night both Berwick reserves had poor meetings. Which leads me to Mr Edberg, this was always going to be a big season for him, a one where he needed to make a real step forward, sadly its not to be. Don't mind riders having poor nights, don't mind riders coming last but I am not paying good money to see a rider literally give up, and not for the first time it must be added. Surely last night was his last time in Berwick race jacket. Promoter promote, supporters support.
  17. Still bits and pieces of light rain around but it is brighter than before.
  18. We have had some rain in Berwick overnight and it remains cloudy right now, forecast is for any cloud to clear over the next few hours to leave a dry day. It will be cooler than of late. Whatever team Peterborough and for that matter Berwick are turning up with I hope tonight's meeting is a good advert for Berwick Speedway,Peterborough Speedway, PL speedway and speedway racing in general, and lets face it, right now it needs all the help it can get.
  19. You seem to be in the same circumstances as I, I worked with lots of Poles who are speedway daft yet few actually attend. Seems there`s an untapped seem of support out there, if only we can get them trackside.
  20. Birks 5-83 Franc 5-67 Whether Pepe could commit to all of Sheffield's fixtures is another matter of course, but that hardly seems to matter nowadays.
  21. Sadly something tells me this isn't the last press release of this kind we will see. I hope the people of Scunthorpe get themselves along to their speedway meetings from now to the end of the season, Scunthorpe Speedway is a real jewel in the crown, if for no other reason it is one of the very few tracks where riders are able to practice virtually all year round and surely that has to be worth saving. Berwick tried that a couple of seasons ago, crowd levels were virtually unaffected, if there was an increase it was more kids who were getting in free anyway.
  22. Dont give up just yet young soldier, I can remember a couple of seasons ago when we had our first Sky meeting, this time against Newcastle. The Diamonds turned up minus Andrew Tully and Ludvig Lindgren, who was racing in Sweden that Tuesday night, many predicted a hammering for Newcastle, the won by 8pts.
  23. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=807712652661207 Well done to the supporters of Glasgow and Berwick, and those who support neither, for raising a fantastic amount for a great cause.
