Isn't that more to do with the presentation of the parade rather than the parade itself. Good idea to bring back the old style parade but the presentation of it should be looked at IMO if it is to become a permanent thing. Not sure it worked if that was the case, Garcia did one practice start down the back straight then returned to the pits. The club advertise tapes up at seven, but rarely happens. I thought they could start the bikes up at 6-30pm.

Agree with you regarding Ashworth surely this would've better being done during the interval as everyone was in the stadium and didn't need to get away at HT15 as some did but no matter it was just good to see Ricky looking well and continuing his recovery.

Enjoyed the meeting last night and fair play to Plymouth, lead all the way and deserved their points. As others have mentioned Berwick need to get back to a seven man team asap, its clear Barker will be out for a significant length of time but as long as he is No1 the guest facility should cover him, but we either need Vissing back or get either a permanent or short term replacement for him as last night R/R doesn't get the points necessary to cover for him and Jorgensen getting injured only compounds the problem. With Glasgow and Edinburgh coming up in the next few weeks this problem needs to be addressed if we are not to suffer dropping more points at home.

Berwick`s promotion deserve huge credit for listening and acting on fans suggestions, and it was a nice surprise to see the bikes being brought out for the parade. Unfortunately, though not surprisingly, it was ruined by the centre green presenter. It gave him the chance to dust off the old he is worried I `m going to say something nasty about him ( Risager the rider ) routine, then for some reason half way through introducing the Berwick team he went back to the Plymouth No5 to tell him was about to introduce Jorgensen, poor old Hall and Edberg hardly got an introduction at all. Great idea in principle, turned out poor in practice.

To be fair its hardly Glasgow`s win at all costs is it, they would've asked the question of the BSPA as to what they would be entitled to get to cover for the injured Sargeant, they were granted a guest probably as he would've been riding for his EL club. The fact he was then injured obviously didn't make any difference to last nights meeting.

Could we have a debating time out just to apologise to the rest of BSF who would normally come onto the Berwick threads to view much in fighting and name calling, seems for a short time only normality as broken out. Though there is a meeting tomorrow, so expect normal service to be resumed very soon people.

I have put that idea on here a time or two, must be worth considering especially when you think of how many Poles turned up when Berwick hosted one of the Under 21 Final a couple of seasons ago. I accept that on that night they had a number of their own riders to support, Jankowski, Zsmarslik etc but even if a small percentage of those there that night come on a regular or semi regular bases it will benefit the club.

Agree, throwing money at the wrong kind, or the wrong places for advertising is silly, especially for the likes of Berwick. Obviously good idea with posters, maybe the club could look at doing some poster specifically for the Polish shops we have around the Borders. Doesn't have to be anything different to the one they produce now, but just have it in Polish language. Should be reasonably cheap to, and with a bit of luck would pay for itself if we get one or two of the speedway daft Polish along.

No idea, though surely the more people see Berwick`s advertisement as possible the more likelihood of them coming to the speedway, especially now in summertime with school holidays just round the corner. Looks like we are back to the speculate to accumulate argument.

Doesn't most of the money from BSPA events go to the BSPA.

Maybe they could look at taxi`s in Berwick to, maybe they get some advertising space there to.

My point about knocking on doors was more aimed at Berwick than anything else, Berwick is a small town with lots of small businesses, you may need to go to them rather than they come to you. To be fair to the club they look to have already done that with their group of associate sponsors. You mention Perryman`s buses, its great they have come forward to sponsor a meeting later in the season, I think they may be their first sponsorship, I followed one of their buses through the town today and on the back they were carrying an advert for the Kings Arms Hotel and their restaurants. Maybe the club could look in that direction to take Berwick Speedway to lots of people.

It does make sense, if your going to have a National speedway Stadium in Manchester you`d think they will put most of the BSPA meetings there. But what about all those rain offs.

I am sure if anyone has contacts that would help the club, whether they tell us or not, they would use them. But your point is a good one, if you don't make those call, send those emails, or knock on doors you wont find out. The club produced a brochure a couple or three years ago when they were looking for a team sponsor, I would hope they are still doing that kind of thing. Apart from lenses I have no contacts.

Proctor had the chance at the start of this season to get the 7pt average he needed, he failed to do so, so had his visa to be here with drawn.
