  1. Something tells me that Mr Konopka might not be the answer.
  2. IMO the PL will have a very different look to it come next March.
  3. Anders Thomsen has a contract with Rawicz in Poland on a Sunday, so any move to Glasgow would be doubtful, for this season anyway.
  4. Congratulations to Berwick`s Leon Flint who finished 3rd in today`s British 125cc Championship at Peterborough.
  5. As a spectacle this meeting wont last long in the memory as apart from Morris and Lawson, Glasgow put up very little resistance. Nothing should be taking away from Berwick however as they gave their visitors a right royal roasting. Would the result have been different had Glasgow had their two reserves, probably not, would the scoreline have different had Glasgow had their two reserves almost certainly but if you sign riders who are likely to disappear off to diddly European meetings you deserve all you get, and that's not a go at Glasgow as I would feel the same about any other club in the same position, including Berwick who it should be pointed out were missing Hall who was off long tracking. I understand that Glasgow requested earlier last that last nights meeting be postponed, thankfully that was met with short shrift from Berwick. Big crowd last night swelled by the usual massive travelling support from Glasgow, fair play to those who came giving your weakened team. Credit to fans of both teams for adding in excess of £2000 to the Ben Fund from the collection that took place last night.
  6. Weaker, if we get the Fisher we saw last week then he is a good replacement for Barker, the weakness comes going with R/R for Vissing and Carr in for Hall though Carr should be in the points against Perks and Williamson.
  7. I know but wasn't it brilliant. No newsletter from the club, though the teams are confirmed on the clubs website. Edberg will surely have a bumper night tonight and should be able to handle the two opposition reserves.
  8. The sun has certainly got his hat on in Berwick this morning, and happily it is forecast to stay that way virtually all day. Smallest chance of getting an odd shower this afternoon but it looks like sunshine and warm temperatures all the way today.
  9. Some better news on Ben, he has so far been recovering from his back injuries in a hospital in Wolverhampton but is now to be moved to a hospital much nearer his Cornish home.
  10. Agree with this, though we already have a new rider in Garcia, having another one may be to much of a gamble but like you say if there`s no reliable or available riders out there maybe a gamble that pays off could fire the team into play off contention.
  11. Agree that a missing Hall is a blow to Berwick, but if its true that both Glasgow reserves will miss this meeting that surely is a greater loss as the Tigers will have to go with two NL riders. Makes a mockery of our sport.
  12. Cant you just buy one on the day from the stadium.
  13. It could be a NL guest fest at Shielfield this Saturday.
  14. One or two suggestions on the Ipswich thread he retired last night.
  15. I agree but three or four years down the line is a long way off in the life of Berwick Speedway.
  16. Isn't that more to do with the presentation of the parade rather than the parade itself. Good idea to bring back the old style parade but the presentation of it should be looked at IMO if it is to become a permanent thing. Not sure it worked if that was the case, Garcia did one practice start down the back straight then returned to the pits. The club advertise tapes up at seven, but rarely happens. I thought they could start the bikes up at 6-30pm.
  17. Roland Benko misses tonight's meeting due to a family bereavement.
  18. Guess that sorts out this weeks cover photo for the Speedway Star.
  19. Agree with you regarding Ashworth surely this would've better being done during the interval as everyone was in the stadium and didn't need to get away at HT15 as some did but no matter it was just good to see Ricky looking well and continuing his recovery.
  20. Enjoyed the meeting last night and fair play to Plymouth, lead all the way and deserved their points. As others have mentioned Berwick need to get back to a seven man team asap, its clear Barker will be out for a significant length of time but as long as he is No1 the guest facility should cover him, but we either need Vissing back or get either a permanent or short term replacement for him as last night R/R doesn't get the points necessary to cover for him and Jorgensen getting injured only compounds the problem. With Glasgow and Edinburgh coming up in the next few weeks this problem needs to be addressed if we are not to suffer dropping more points at home.
  21. Berwick`s promotion deserve huge credit for listening and acting on fans suggestions, and it was a nice surprise to see the bikes being brought out for the parade. Unfortunately, though not surprisingly, it was ruined by the centre green presenter. It gave him the chance to dust off the old he is worried I `m going to say something nasty about him ( Risager the rider ) routine, then for some reason half way through introducing the Berwick team he went back to the Plymouth No5 to tell him was about to introduce Jorgensen, poor old Hall and Edberg hardly got an introduction at all. Great idea in principle, turned out poor in practice.
  22. Berwick Bandits Supporter's Club 11 June at 21:56 · WHO WANTS TO GO ON A MINI TOUR???? If we can get enought interest our plan is to run a bus to Ipswich and Scunthorpe in August. The price is still to be confirmed. Get your names down now. We need all names in by the 1st of July. Posted on the Supporters Club Facebook page, some have already put their names down, they need 30 people to make this a goer.
  23. Normal service resumed at Armadale, thankfully Worrall kept things respectable but the vast majority of the Redcar riders need to have a look at themselves, you could maybe excuse Konopka as why would you give your best to a club who have already sacked you. asse bjerre #⃣1⃣5⃣ ‏@LasseBjerre93 10h10 hours agoScotland, United Kingdom @RedcarBears @eccofinishing sorry for tonight but in my opinion safety comes first! Think the riders need to pull together on some decisions
  24. To be fair its hardly Glasgow`s win at all costs is it, they would've asked the question of the BSPA as to what they would be entitled to get to cover for the injured Sargeant, they were granted a guest probably as he would've been riding for his EL club. The fact he was then injured obviously didn't make any difference to last nights meeting.
