Going by the advance ticket sales, the grandstands are going to be full no matter how many Poles are riding.

If Kennett and Bunyan don't come up trumps it could end up a massacre. -
For the good of the sport the FIM must come up with their decision before we get to Gorzow next Saturday.

Must try harder, though being Australian I thought Masters would've come out swinging. -

I can never understand all this pushing and shoving stuff, if you're clump somebody then just get on and do it. -

Who Will Make The Playoffs ?
screm replied to Super Blue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The fewer meetings you take to calculate a CMA the more open it is to abuse and manipulation, maybe the length of time could be a little shorter, but I like this system. Surely it gives a more accurate account of how a rider is doing. -

Maybe he will tonight, he has had some decent scores round Berwick, and a few duff ones in the past but at reserve could be a trump card. -

Olly Allen is a bit sore but likely to be fit for Somerset's next meeting, sadly Brady Kurtz has a fracture to his upper arm which is likely to keep him out for a few weeks. -

Giving some of our recent efforts round Armadale thirty two is about par for the course, our riders just don't seem to be able to work the place out, and there is very little to be gained from having a go at the track, surely its the same for both teams. -
Patryk Dudek Tests Positive For Banned Substance
screm replied to lastword's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Sadly I believe Dudek probably unknowingly took a banned substance, and will be done for taking a banned drug, with Ward, alcohol is not an illegal substance but riding in a speedway meeting with it in your system is, so he will probably get the lighter sentence but IMO Ward knowingly took an amount of alcohol that he probably knew was wrong while Dudek is the victim of the system that govern our sport. -
Patryk Dudek Tests Positive For Banned Substance

Good post, for what its worth I think Dudek probably has taken a banned substance unwittingly, but I`m afraid the bottom line is he has taken a banned substance and should be banned accordingly. -

That's easy, any BigEddieChek post. Now this is only a bit of humour, I`m more than happy to be on the other end of the banter. -

I`m confident Berwick can shock the speedway World and grab a point. Though I may want to have a re-think. -
Patryk Dudek Tests Positive For Banned Substance

All well and good, but like it or not, Dudek has taking something illegal, there cant be degrees of wrongness in this. -
I`m sure that every rider will be tucked up in bed, and on their best behaviour the night before Gorzow.

If NKI has evidence of wrong doing of any kind, IMO he has a duty to report it.

Maybe this is it, it is taken from Eastern Daily Press. I really don’t want to go into that incident too much but I’m sure it may serve as a bit of a wake-up call for everyone. Mind you, for me, it isn’t actually booze that the authorities need to worry about. At every GP three or four riders are selected at random to give a breath sample. I’ve been selected a few times. I’ve got no problem with being selected. However, I don’t think anybody turns up intentionally looking to ride while they’re drunk. Sometimes people can go off the rails, or have one too many, and they have to face the consequences when they do that – especially if the alcohol isn’t out of their system. It’s no different to having five pints, getting in the car and driving, and being stopped by the police that night or the following morning. Whether you like it or not you’re going to get nicked. But in my opinion there certainly isn’t a huge culture of drinking in our sport. I hardly drink. I very rarely used to have a couple of beers the night before when I was a bit younger, when you go out a bit more, but not now. I put everything into my family and racing. For me, I think the way forward though is to start testing more riders for drugs. You have sticks that you can urinate on and they can tell if you’re under the influence of any narcotics, like cocaine. Speedway isn’t cycling. There isn’t a need to clamp down on performance-enhancing drugs as you don’t need those to ride a bike with an engine. You need a clear head and to be able to concentrate. But some drugs can help get rid of fear. They can make someone go for the smaller gaps and ride quicker. It’s those drugs that can be a benefit on the track and they are what need to be stopped. To put it simply, anyone taking drugs needs to be caught as the sport is dangerous enough as it is. I’ve been tested by anti-doping agencies while riding in the Polish league. But sometimes people can get caught out with things like supplements and such. Patryk Dudek has been suspended after testing positive for a banned substance. However, some have said the sample contained stuff that is found in a diet supplement. If that’s the case, I feel sorry for him. Accidents can happen with things like that – a lot of people take supplements, I drink protein shakes – but if you’re taking cocaine, or drinking alcohol, you know what you’re doing to yourself. I don’t think a punishment for failing a doping test should be more severe than failing a drink or drug one either.

Latest from the Edinburgh Official site. Berwick Bandits will arrive at Armadale tonight determined to improve on recent form round the Scotwaste Arena and pick up at least one league point. The charge for the top spot in the league race and thus the first choice of play off opponent is very much a three horse race with Scotwaste Monarchs, the Bandits and Somerset desperate for very league point available. Form team Ipswich could join the leading group if the pull off a shock win at Somerset tonight. However, it is the Bandits who fancy their chances of top spot with some winnable away matches to come. Scotwaste Monarchs have had an illness worry all week over team captain Derek Sneddon. He was stung on the cheek by a wasp at the beginning of the week and suffered a severe allergic reaction that saw his face blow up like a balloon. Despite treatment at his local hospital Derek was very doubtful about his ability to ride yesterday morning. However, the swelling has now subsided a little and at Friday lunchtime Derek said, "My face is still far from pretty but a lot better than last night. I'm good to go." Good news indeed for the team. Scotwaste Monarchs resident mountaineer, Geoff Craythorne, will be at the stadium gates tonight to answer any questions about the Ben Nevis climb, now rescheduled for 20th September, and will be taking names of anyone who wishes to join one of the riders climbing teams -

If he rides like he did last week there`s ever possibility, though I`m sure Kennett for one will have something to say about that. -
If there is no breaks, that at least is a bit of good news, though injuring ligaments and tendons can be just as messy.
