  1. Would've liked to have seen Berge involved, but for obvious reasons Glasgow are reticent to let their Frenchman ride for Berwick, cant think why. We have a Scunthorpe reserve coming in for one of our your scorers, we are up against things on Saturday, but I`m confident Vissing, Doolan etc can cover the loses.
  2. Off thread I know but this is the most recent Workington thread, as everyone knows Workington will now be coming over to race at Berwick on Wednesday September 10th. Admission on that night will be £10, however anyone with a rain-off ticket from the original fixture can use it, also, there will be a free programme on the night.
  3. Berwick team for Saturday. 1 Claus Vissing 2 Thomas Jorgensen 3 Steen Jensen 4 R/R 5 Keven Doolan 6 Alex Edberg 7 Ander Thomsen
  4. Captain Matty Update Matty is now at home in Broxburn. He has a possible pelvic fracture -- for which there will be no treatment apart from total rest , and he ...has been sent home with a handful of strong painkillers. The hospital will phone him with further information , once the specialist orthopedic consultants have more info from the x-rays taken today. As soon as Matty knows and relays the information to the club, we will update again . Taken from Berwick`s Facebook page.
  5. Fox has been advised not to ride for seven days, so will miss tomorrow`s trip to Sheffield, Edinburgh can only use a NL guest.
  6. Last night the forth coming fixtures were announced from the centre green and the box, they had ample opportunity to announce any missing riders, still its thanks to this forum for keeping the fans up dated.
  7. You can forget Dakota North. dakota north ‏@dakota_north 1m Getting a Few tweets regarding Peterborough , I'm not riding for them
  8. IMO Somerset will prove to be to powerful for Edinburgh, to much strength in reserve and loosing Fox weakens the visitors still further, though Somerset might not have been Aaron Fox`s cup of tea anyway.
  9. I`m sure he will realise the grass could've been oh so greener for him.
  10. Looks like Joe Jacobs will be one of the riders on his way. Joe Jacobs ‏@JoeJacobs93 12m Looking for PL place....
  11. Mrs English was handing out vouchers at the 4`s to get an admission reduction for this meeting, all being well and work allowing I will make good use of them. If that should change I am quite happy to give them away.
  12. Don't write Berwick off just yet, yes we are going to miss Bellego, Wethers and especially Kus big time on Saturday, but I`m sure our management will have the averages out choosing the best possible guests, our team seem to perform better when their up against it and it would be fair to say we are up against it on Saturday.
  13. Berwick do indeed have a polyfoam fence, the curfew for last nights meeting was extended to 10pm I believe. On the decision to not to put Kus in Ht14, it should've happened but didn't and in the end Berwick won so no damage done, but in the form Matej is in at the minute its vital he gets his full seven rides as right now we have a No7 riding like a No1. You need to get up here and see it for real, I hope you will one day.
  14. To be honest Berwick are making one or two teams look very ordinary this season.
  15. Good point, though it wouldn't exactly make for good tv with the kind of hammerings Edinburgh have been handing out at home this season. Don't they now, I take it the New Holland flags that were hanging from the floodlight pylons will now be a regular feature, haven't seen them so far this season. I take it the couple of new tractors that graded the track last night will be there each and every week from now on. Not a fan of the pipes and drums myself but they will be attending all the meetings from now till the end of the season, to the best of my recollection they haven't been to a PL meeting so far this season, and the posters, anyone going into the club shop for their free Berwick v Somerset poster so the could cover the Borders would've come out empty handed. We even had the little cart that normally does the white line on the inside of the track doing the lines at the starting gate. All of the above great ideas, and I`m not knocking any of them or the kind of meeting the promotion put on last night, and its perfectly sensible for the club to make every effort to put on the best show possible, which they did, but to suggest its more or less the same as any other week is rather silly.
  16. Very true, my shabbiness comment was more that Berwick would've known last night that Bellego and Kus would be missing on Saturday, they could've let their customers know.
  17. We could use Berge as a guest for Kus, possibly allowing him seven rides.
  18. Haven't checked the rules but we are missing our top averaged reserve, so could be allowed a guest.
  19. Just watching the meeting over again, must say its coming over very well on Sky with some good comments from former riders Louis and Tatum. Funniest moment so far is the after race interview with Cook and Sedgeman after they had just collected a great 5-1 in Ht11. Cook says "there`s no passing round here at all" to which Chris Louis replies "bit unfair to say no passing as we have seen some from the home riders." Cook had the chance to be the hero for the Monarchs, yet couldnt manage to beat the Berwick No2 and a reserve.
