  1. Decent nights racing in a meeting that had everything, falls, controversy and some good racing. Berwick were well in this meeting, and could probably have pinched a point or two but seemed to run out of steam towards the later races. Doolan and Kus were good for Berwick, Jensen and Wethers were ok and Carr deserved more for his efforts, however Berwick were let down by their no1 Vissing who sadly had his worst night of the season so far. Lack of race winners were Berwicks un-doing but they can be proud of their efforts. King and Kerr were excellent for Newcastle, turning point for Newcastle was after having two poor outings Lindgren then went undefeated in his last two rides which went along way to open a gap in the scores. Highlight of the night IMO was a Berwick fan who decided to walk up to the pits to throw a load of bile at Simon Nielsen, after making a bit of a testical of himself beat a hasty retreat.
  2. Try telling that to a number of Berwick fans over on the Newcastle v Berwick thread, they have a similar situation with Bellego.
  3. Wasn't me that brought up the subject of any ban so go rant with the poster who did.
  4. Unless Berwick claim Bellego is withholding his services, which he isn't, he wont face any ban. I am amazed Berwick haven't announced this fact.
  5. Had Bellego really wanted to be at Newcastle tonight then I think he would've been, it seems Peterborough are having the same issue with Lasse Bjerre.
  6. It isn't only Peterborough that are affected by riders struggling to return from Italy, Berwick are minus David Bellego for their trip to Newcastle, though you have to question the wisdom of why Peterborough would agree to ride against the PL leaders a day after the first Final where it was always going to be likely that Bjerre would be in it.
  7. That doesn't mean to say its not true, surely your not one of the merry band that needs to have it officially announced by the club before they believe it, I thought better of you.
  8. Really. Just before six o'clock referee Margaret Vardy and team captains Derek Sneddon and Matthew Wethers made the briefest of track inspections and the inevitable decision was taken to call off the Knock Out Cup quarter final first leg. At that stage the stadium was being lashed by heavy rain and the track was long past repair. Berwick had been relatively dry all day but drizzle started falling at 4.30pm and got worse and worse after that. Supporters travelling down the A1 to the match had to endure dreadful driving conditions only to arrive at a very soggy Shielfield Park. Both teams were keen that this fixture would not create further fixture congestion later in the season so the match has been re-arranged for this Wednesday, 23rd July with a start time of 7.30pm. Taken from Edinburgh's Twitter page.
  9. Sad really as I believe this thread could've been very entertaining over tonight and tomorrow.
  10. To be fair to the club, right up till 4-30pm IMO the meeting would've been very much on, the drizzle turned to rain which then turned to heavy rain. I`m sure at 6pm when the meeting was called off there would've been little alternative. Probably not much of a consolation to those who have to come any kind of difference but there you go. As I look out now the rain has all but stopped.
  11. Called off just before 6pm, of course the silver lining to this particular cloud is that come the re-arrangement Berwick should be back to full strength with Bellego back in the team.
  12. Forecast now showing rain till around 7pm, then becoming drier. I`ve been confident of seeing speedway all day, for the last couple of hours we have had steady now heaving rain, I leave now in hope rather than confidence.
  13. Rain heavier than before, still misty, weather has closed right in over the last hour or so.
  14. We have a heavy mist and drizzle in Berwick just now, it seems there has been rain all around Berwick today which has all missed Berwick, until now.
  15. The weathers Gods have certainly smiled on Berwick today, the forecast heavy showers so far haven't turned up. Its been dull, misty and grey all day and but for a sprinkling of rain around lunchtime its been dry, so looks like we will get a meeting tonight. PS I wouldn't mind a pound every time we here the word smug from the centre green this evening.
  16. The drizzle has now all but stopped, bit misty, at the minute IMO there isn't any reason why we shouldn't get a meeting tonight, lets hope it stays that way.
  17. Fairly steady light drizzle now, looks well set in, hopefully this will go over soon.
  18. Dry in Berwick overnight and dry right now, though it is very cloudy. Thundery showers are forecast from mid-morning to mid-afternoon, then its an improving picture, so right now its all down to how many or how heavy the showers are that will determine if we get racing tonight.
  19. Don't worry I use my own calculations, its far more accurate. Nonsense, the title of this thread is "end of Monarchs unbeaten run", we have nothing to fear.
  20. How many points we get from R/R determine whether we win this meeting or not, Wethers, Jensen, Carr and Kus are the eligible riders. I`m thinking Kus could be a busy boy IMO.
  21. Best wishes to Schramm on a long and happy retirement.
