Giving the current form of both teams I think Sky, and the watching millions are going to be in for a treat on Tuesday evening.

If you like your racing close, and your scores even closer, this wasn't the meeting for you. Sheffield don't have their problems to find just lately with so many injuries, and sadly for them the guests they chose last night were largely ineffectual, add to that a reserve a bit out of his depth and you end up on the wrong end of a big defeat, hopefully for them their injuries clear up soon and they can get back to having a full team, if they can get Covatti scoring they will pick up points. Also, this is a different Berwick team these days, it is a team riding with confidence and one that is going to take a bit of stopping at home. Take nothing away from Berwick though, they were excellent, it was good to see Wethers back on form, and Edberg chipping in with some good points at reserve, clearly there will be stiffer challengers but you can only beat what's put in front of you and Berwick did just that. As ever Simon Stead was a joy to watch round Shielfield.

Oh boy am I going to be in trouble. We had heavy rain late afternoon, early evening yesterday, that cleared away overnight. Forecast for today is good, cloudy in the morning but dry, afternoon much better with some sunshine. This forecast is not "out dated", or am I a "pessimist".

Josh Bates has been ruled out for tonight, with Chris Widman coming in to take his place. Sheffield have signed Nico Covatti for the rest of the season in place of Ty Proctor, sadly he wont be making his debut tonight at Berwick, he will do that in Sheffield`s next home meeting.

The battles between Simon Stead and our riders should be reason enough to get along to this meeting, alas after that I don't see to much that would stop Berwick from hitting a high score tomorrow night.

Maybe he fancies a go at reserve, Wethers form hasn't been good in the last few weeks, though the way the team is built and the way Kus is going we can just about carry a rider. Come the play-offs though, if Berwick qualify, we will need all the team firing.

For the area where Berwick gets it supporters from, they have always had reasonable crowds. Obviously the city tracks have more competition from more attractions but Berwick have a decent number of loyal supporters who turn up week in week out.

The Tigers went with R/R for Andre Compton at No2. and had guests at No`s 4 & 5. Things may change still further as Josh Bates was withdrawn from last night meeting. The good news is that after three weeks of crappy weather we are going to be blessed with a fine day tomorrow.

Sadly you have only seen EL racing, you haven't managed to get to any PL meetings, which as we all know is far better than the rabble they call the EL. Hope your enjoying your speedway though. Agree about the presenter at Wolves, he is excellent.

Quite agree, if you looked at the post I was answering all would've become clear, its the rule that allows guests willy and indeed nilly that's the problem not what Berwick, or any other club do with it. Another good away win for Berwick, away wins are becoming quite a habit this season, we now have three home meetings in a week, all toughies, but three home win will go along win to securing a play-off place.

Absolutely, maybe more riders should do the same, though looking at some of their efforts on Twitter its quite apparent most wouldn't be able to put forward any kind of coherent argument without taking to obscenities. Unlike David Howe who put forward an excellent response.

Perhaps you could go to the Czech Republic with Mr Howe, and having taken you he could leave you.

If the guest facility is being granted simply so a rider can make a signing on time then that makes it worse, the rules say no guest should be granted for a rider attending practice, I would've thought the same should apply to cover a rider signing in.

Guest facilities for the most obscure of reasons are killing this sport, if promoters want to know why so many are turning their backs should look no further than here, and other matches going on tonight. It is clear that Scunthorpe should not be getting a guest for Howe, not unless Howe is withholding his services and will be banned, then a guest would be quite proper. Let us hope tomorrow nights referee has the decency to up hold the rules the govern this sport.

Fair point, to balance things out Berwick were allowed to use a guest at Sheffield in the recent KOC tie for Matej Kus, who had been signed off as ill, though he wasn't so ill he that he couldn't race in a Czech League meeting the previous evening. IMO Berwick should not have received a facility that evening.

So from that its fair to say had Lawson really wanted to ride for Redcar tonight, he could've asked to be released to, on second thoughts, giving the wild and wacky allegations he came out with the last time these two sides met its probably a good idea he is at Swindon tonight.

And your comparing Edinburgh with Redcar. Ah so that's all right.

So why is Adam Ellis riding for Ipswich tonight and not Lakeside, also Kim Nillsson is riding in Sweden rather than at Swindon.

I doubt even Berwick could come up with enough excuses should they go on and loose this meeting tonight, though I don't understand how Redcar are getting away with using a guest, even if that guest is Theo Pjyper, when quite clearly the Swindon V Lakeside meeting is an a re-arranged fixture.

Then surely he should get his own kit across to Glasgow, or is he another one of these riders who keeps their best equipment for the European leagues, IMO he owes Glasgow at least to make some kind of effort.

Really, then how is Redcar allowed a guest for Richard Lawson, he is riding for Lakeside.

That being the case, why is Redcar allowed a guest.

Lawson`s EL club, Lakeside are due to ride at Swindon tomorrow night, so that fixture takes priority.
