  1. Andre Compton has posted a couple of things on Twitter this afternoon, although very saw all over, he is ok and after plenty of rest will be back in action next Thursday, he is also thankful to the first aid team at Owlerton and to the staff at the hospital. He is one lucky lad.
  2. Forum etiquette should also tell you that you attack the post and not the poster, it appears your posts get sillier by the day.
  3. Delighted to hear that Andre Compton has been released from hospital with no lasting injuries that a bit of rest wont cure, could've been a load lot worse.
  4. ANDRE Compton, the hugely popular Sheffield racer, has been talking to doctors in hospital after his horrifying high speed crash in Monday’s home defeat by Somerset at Owlerton. Compton, who made a comeback from retirement last year, was in flying form for the Tigers in front of the Sky Sports cameras in a hugely entertaining meeting. But disaster struck on the final bend of Heat 14 when he was leading the race, only for his chain to come off which sent him flying from his machine and he was then struck by the rider behind him. Compton was taken from the track in a neck brace after a long delay – but early suggestions provide hope there may be nothing too serious with his injuries. Sheffield promoter Damien Bates said: “Whilst we are not totally sure on Andre’s exact condition, he was talking OK in the hospital, but the last update I received is that he was waiting to see a doctor for a full and proper check up – we hope early indications prove correct that there is nothing too serious.” Sheffield go to Somerset for the return tonight with three guests and rider replacement. Taken from the Sheffield Tigers Speedway site.
  5. Firstly and most importantly I hope Andre Compton is ok after his fall last night, and that Olly Allen is back asap after his fall to. Sheffield don't have their problems to seek, carrying so many injured riders was their un-doing last night, even for incredible efforts of Taylor Poole. But IMO this was another excellent advert for PL speedway and it showed again what an excellent track Owlerton is.
  6. Laura Morgan comes over has a decent person and I am sure she, along with the rest of the promotion at Workington will be gutted with todays events, sadly there is bound to be one or two fans who wont be there in future, something I`d imagine Workington Speedway can ill afford.
  7. Henry pulling out after one ride certainly didn't help matters, especially as he couldn't be replaced in subsequent rides, though in that position you need your No1 to step up, sadly for Glasgow he didn't.
  8. Glasgow do deserve better from the No1, he really does blow hot and cold, decent score at Ipswich then a shocker at Plymouth, with another shocker today. What are the alternatives though, maybe Glasgow would need to make more than one change to get a winning team.
  9. If we are going for an annoyance Champ, could I be considered.

  11. Yes that's fair enough but there is a bit of difference between a meeting called off when the track is obviously wet and the situation we have at Workington today.
  12. The next time we see a promotion coming out bleating about lack of support, maybe they can be pointed in the direction of this forum and some of the rubbish supporters of teams up and down the Country have to put up with.
  13. But Rye House are happy enough to take a meeting at Berwick on the same day, would Newcastle have had to agree to the postponement of next Saturdays meeting, I mean the fixture was in the diary and has been for some time. I`ve no doubt the fact that Team GB have reached the Final will trotted out as the main reason.
  14. Majority of people sat in cars till it was called off, but there a few who had walked over from Prior or Tweedmouth, feel sorry for those ones but what can you do.
  15. Woodward was a decent enough choice, there wasn't to many complaints before last nights meeting, sadly for Woodward he had a nightmare. For Thursdays Play-Off there will be at least one change with Holder coming in, its likely that Woodward will be the rider to make way.
  16. And for those of us who`s first language in English.
  17. Tell us about it, some poor souls were left outside in the pouring rain while they waited on a decision.
  18. Just tell me nobody had to park in the field opposite the stadium this year and I will be happy.
  19. Good grief, you can slag the track off all you want, the riders fire away, but do you how much bother your in having a go at the burgers.
