  1. No..you don't mean...well I cant believe it. Never mind an investigation into last saturday, I think we have found a far more serious issue that needs looking at.
  2. An excellent, well worded statement, and its to John Anderson`s credit he has issued an explanation of Saturday night. It seems the paramedic who covered Saturdays meeting is/was suffering personnel issues, what ever those are have nothing to do with anyone apart from the paramedic himself, so I don't think it would do anyone any good to speculate. I think its fair to say the events of last are unlikely to ever happen again, in terms of rider takes ill closely followed by a paramedic, but the issue for me is the delays and time taking up from treating an injured rider. The statement suggests that Berwick Speedway would love an extra paramedic or doctor present, that of course would keep the meeting going. As I understand things it is more logistics than financial that would get us a much needed extra medical cover. Though for me if the Promotion are looking to off set an extra paramedic by way of financial incentive I`m sure we would be willing to contribute, for example put 50p on to the programme, maybe a doctor or paramedic would come for a free night at the speedway and a few pound notes in their pocket, might never be needed but if they were then they are there ready to take over till the first paramedic is able to resume his position. Its a thorny issue, but hoe many customers could Berwick Speedway potentially lose of the delays continue. Hopefully we can get that extra medical cover, as the statement says everything else is in place medical wise. There was no speedway, or anything else as far as I know, at Shielfield since the GP Qualifier meeting two weeks ago, so I was expecting the track to be in tip top condition, sadly that was not the case. The tracks has generally been very good this season, with the track staff rightly receiving praise for their efforts, and the racing has been decent to. Saturday was a lurch back to the bad old days of last season where some riders struggled to adapt to the track conditions. Whatever they were doing earlier this season to get the track so good they need to get back to doing this week in preparation for Saturday night.
  3. Whatever the reasons that stopped Lambert from signing for Newcastle are still there surely, if they weren't I`m sure Newcastle would have him in their 1-7 as quick as you could say management committee.
  4. He became Champion of the World without going anywhere near his home track, that has to stand for something. In terms of ear rings, tattoos etc, its the modern way, maybe old farts like me aren't exactly enamoured with them but what he does is his business.
  5. What!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Never possible, are you trying to break my heart. But that would never happen on this forum, no attention seekers here.
  6. Looking forward to seeing the other side of just riding a bike round a track, travelling, organisation etc, its the kind of programme I`ve been wanting to see for a while. IMO Woffinden has matured over the last few years and made himself into a top sportsman, very media savy, talks well and most importantly does it on the track. We are very fortunate to have him as our World Champ.
  7. This Berwick Promotion are very much fan friendly, I am sure they will address the issues from Saturday and act upon them this week.
  8. All true I`m sure, though the fact that Berwick were venerable and Redcar were in with a chance of an away would've giving Havvy snr that bit of extra incentive.
  9. Matty & Matej Update : Matty WETHERS is home with no broken bones but he is very sore . Bike , helmet & neck brace all totally wrecked . Matej KUS has rested all day & is feeling much better , he travels home to Czech tomorrow where he will see his GP . Update taken from Berwick Speedway Facebook, delighted to see better news on both riders.
  10. And your opinion of Summers as Newcastle guest after tonight is...............
  11. Absolutely, which is why I hope the promotion at Berwick addresses any delays.
  12. Stand to be corrected here, but I think the nearest ambulance station is literally 5mins from the track, of course that is presuming the ambulance isn't out on call.
  13. On your first point, IMO this is the issue, namely customers standing around waiting for the meeting to resume, obviously the treatment of any injuries come first, but if there was extra paramedic cover the meeting could continue. Berwick Speedway have taken huge steps forward, especially with their fans in mind, I am sure they will address this issue.
  14. Giving the theme of the last few pages, I hate doing this but I would like to make a point about the racing that did happen last night, during which I thought Liam Carr looked far more aggressive than of late and scored decent points in doing so.
  15. Rye House Rockets ‏@RyeHouseFans 53m Silver: "I am sad to see Jason step down. He has done a fine job during difficult times and he has my appreciation for that.” Looking at this Bunyan stepped down.
  16. Ipswich must be the most frustrating team in the PL, on paper the 1-7 they have look as good as anything else in the league, but they are so inconsistent.
  17. Rye House have a new captain. Rye House Rockets ‏@RyeHouseFans 1m Edward Kennett will take over the Rockets captaincy following Jason Bunyan's decision to step down & concentrate on his own form
  18. Your right, though that could be opening a whole new can of worms.
  19. Desperate message across to our editorial on Sunday from Belgium, where he played 3. round of the Dutch League. During the competition as a result of the injury after the fall, Grzegorz Knapp. During the competition the Dutch League (Heusden-Zolder) with the participation of two Polish players came to the tragic consequences of collapse. In 5. men competed in Lelystad Windmills Grzegorz Knapp had an awful-looking. The damage, which was a Polish player were very extensive. Despite its attempts at resuscitation he died. Grzegorz Knapp recently was mainly known for his work with Ice Speedwayu . I have translated this from the Sportewefaty.pl site, condolences to all family and friends. A truly sad day for our sport.
  20. I agree with you, as I posted earlier today I`m much more interested in what Berwick will do to avoid the long periods of no track action when we are waiting for the transfer of an injured rider to the County ambulance.
  21. Nothing to do with me on this occasion, all the work of Mr Lawson.
  22. Yes I was wrong, which is why I have posted an apology to Dr Fortune in post 166.
  23. Richard Lawson ‏@RlracingLawson 4m I forgot we weren't allowed to tell the truth. Only Been on twitter a week.. Oh the drama! #offtogetdrunk Make of this what you will.

  25. Seems I have got the wrong end of the stick, thanks for the people who have sent me PM`s, I am happy to be corrected and now realise the events of last night had nothing to do with Dr Fortune. Therefore I would like to make a full apology to Dr Fortune.
