  1. FIM cant start parachuting riders into the GP Challenge, the riders either qualify by right by going through the qualification system or they don't, injuries included. We have two Semi-Finals, surely you take 8+1 from each.
  2. Not at all, Berwick, after one or two teething problems last Saturday, have once again proved they can handle the big meetings, as they did with the Sky match last year with Newcastle. Sky know we can deliver a decent presentation with a well promoted meeting, that has to count for something. A Berwick v Edinburgh (example) meeting on Sky would be a thriller indeed.
  3. David Bellego has been drawn in the Czestochowa SGP Semi-Final.

  5. The fact that it would be madness for Redcar to run a home meeting against a World Cup match is missing the issue, its the lateness of the postponement and the inconvenience caused to a few Rye House fans who have booked holidays, hotels etc that is the issue surely.
  6. Top PL No1`s aren't exactly thick on the ground. Had Ipswich had moved quicker of course they might have had Danny King in their team, though they would've had to make more than one change.
  7. Promoters by in large don't give a monkeys about their supporters, just as long as you hand over your money and they are happy. The World Cup draw was weeks ago, fixtures and venues were sorted out soon after. Feeling your pain.
  8. I am hopeful that Berwick will be included when the next round of Sky fixtures are announced, lets all hope together.
  9. 1 Go back to concrete starts, stops all that gardening. 2 Have a line, a few yards short of the tapes, when all the riders are ready, bring them forward to the tapes, and off you go, no gardening. 3 Once you put the two minutes on, the race will start within that two minutes, have a clock at the start line as they do in SGP. 4 Have a referees strong enough to start excluding riders for delaying starts, if they ALL did that it would soon stop.
  10. Decent meeting, infront of a very impressive Monday night crowd. Passing was at a premium on an ultra slick track, Sundstrum was a worthy winner, good to see Bellego going through to the next round though this will mean he misses our meeting with Redcar. As you posted yesterday, form is temporary class is permanent.
  11. Last weather update, still bright and dry all day if a bit cloudy. Looking forward to this meeting and seeing top riders attacking the Berwick track. Should be a cracker, after the nonsense of Saturday its just great to know we are going to get a meeting.
  12. True, but with Bellego being only a few hundred yards from Shielfield, and the Berwick meeting being off at Glasgow did help somewhat.
  13. BERWICK'S David Bellego has been called into the line-up for tonight's Grand Prix qualifier at Shielfield Park. The Bandits rider takes the place of Mathieu Tresarrieu who is ruled out due to injury. Reserve berths are taken by Kyle Howarth and Liam Carr. Weather conditions have been very good during the day, with no rain. The meeting gets underway at 7.30pm. Taken from BSPA site. This meeting just keeps getting stronger.
  14. More clouds around since last update, but still dry. Looks far more than this time on Saturday.
  15. Its a guest and R/R fest at Glasgow tonight. Meeting off. Reluctantly, given the fixture backlog we already have, tonight’s outstanding League Cup tie Vs Berwick has been called off due to the rain-fall already delivered and forecast between now and start time. No restaging date has yet been agreed. Next meeting at Ashfield will be this coming Sunday (15th June) in the deciding leg of our Knock Out Cup, 1st Round tie, against Rye House. Taken from Glasgow site on Twitter.
  16. I like to give an all round weather forecast. Weather update, remains as before, we have had warm sunshine all morning.
  17. Good grief man, you will have the sensitive crew after you.
  18. Looks like there could be a couple of changes to the line up. GREAT Britain duo Richard Lawson and Lewis Bridger have both been called up to the full line-up for tonight’s re-arranged Grand Prix Qualifier at Berwick. The Lakeside pair, previously named as meeting reserves, take the places of Daniel Gappmaier and Tobias Kroner who have withdrawn due to illness. It means there will be four British riders in action at Shielfield Park, as Lawson and Bridger join Chris Harris and Craig Cook in the field. Kyle Howarth, who competed for Great Britain in the World Under-21 Team Cup on Saturday, will now take over as meeting reserve, with the action getting underway at 7.30pm. Above taken from BSPA site. 20. Very nice start to this Monday morning, dry and sunny. Forecast for later is fairly good, mostly dry but there will be the chance of showers, some could be thundery and heavy, these will be mostly in the afternoon. I will update during the course of today.
  21. Fully agree about no room for passengers, maybe a bit harsh on Jensen but its fair to say we all thought a move out of the No1 position for Doolan would've helped, lets hope it does in the future. No disgrace in losing at Newcastle, we now have to make sure our riders get themselves ready for our next PL outing.

  23. Biggest cheer of the night was after the track staff took the covers off, all that effort for nothing. For those thinking of coming tomorrow, its been summer in Berwick today, with lots of warm sunshine, so the track should've dried out nicely. Tomorrows forecast is far more encouraging, chance of a shower or two in the afternoon but fine for morning and evening. Well, despite the efforts of our marvellous track staff, and the incredible patience of every spectator, Saturday's show was washed out by weather. After a great deal of discussion, various international phone calls and enquiries, the FIM Jury for the meeting pulled the plug on the night at 8.45pm, and ordered the riders (and invited spectators) to return on Monday night (9th) at 7.30pm. This event is not a Berwick Bandits meeting (it is staged at Shielfield Park by the BSPA on behalf of the FIM) so readmission on Monday will only be by production of your rained-off ticket from Saturday, or cash payment at the turnstiles. Tickets held from the previously-postponed match against Workington, for instance, will not be valid. For those unable to attend, these tickets will be accepted at any further BSPA 'shared event' this season, or cash refunds can be claimed from the BSPA offices, for which full contact details will follow in our next Bulletin. Thanks to Berwick Speedway for this newsletter, there`s bound to be fans who cant make tomorrow night, nor any BSPA shared event. Might be an idea for the BSPA to put something like this on their site so it reaches a wider audience as some people out there aren't lucky enough to receive newsletters from the club.
  24. I agree, IMO the thing that got to people the most was the lack of a decision one way or the other, then the lack of information. I think the vast majority knew that racing was very unlikely from early on.
