  1. Apart from one particular poster I think this thread has done just that, theres been many posts with ideas about how to generate more interest in Berwick Speedway.
  2. Im sure it will be online later but theres just been a feature on the Newcastle Diamonds mascot, didnt catch his name but it was part of a series that Look North is running at the minute, excellent coverage. I think Im right in saying the young lad is a product of the training schools run by Tsunami,if so then all credit to him. I dont have the knowhow but maybe someone out there could put a link on tomorrow so everyone can enjoy the feature.
  3. This thread is started for all of us to air our views on how to generate interest and bring back the missing fans to Berwick Speedway.Ive only put up two posts, both well meant, both with ideas og helping out, both replied to by the same person in a negative fashion. Its easy to be negative but I think the rest of us can rise above all that.
  4. A season tickets is never really something that Ive bothered with previously, but its something Id consider,I know theres information and a form to download on the official site but maybe an application form could be put in the programme for those who dont have internet access.
  5. A fresh attitude towards the sport cant come from the fans alone,it needs to start with the law makers that govern the sport to,they make it look a laughing stock at times.
  6. Craig Cook is a decent choice of guest, his early performances while with Workington were usually not up to much, but he`s turned all that round over the last season or two and is now a big scorer round Shiefield.Hopefully that will continue on saturday as Berwick need every point going for the second leg, where our record round Rye House is nothing to write home about. I think Berwick will win this meeting, and hopefully by enough to hang on in the second leg.
  7. The biggest thing for the survival for next season looks to be a main team sponsor being found, lets hope one does,to lose the speedway would be a tradegy for Berwick.Speedway in the Berwick area is a minority sport but to those of us who go every week it means a great deal. I will put one small idea forward, and this has been mentioned to me before,we have in Berwick quite a large Polish population living and working in the Berwick area,as we know speedway is far bigger in Poland than here but theres not to many who go to watch Berwick, some I work with dont even know where Shielfield is.My idea is for Berwick Speedway to produce a few fliers to put in the Polish shop in Berwick(there certainly was one I hoping its still there).Might not get a massive response but might just get a extra few,and right now those extra few are worth having. It may be the case that the expense of printing a few posters outways the return through the turnstiles, which of course would be counter productive, but it worth a go.
  8. I have neither the wish, desire to do so,but Im amazed my posts cause such furore, but the answer is a simple one. This forum is about opinion, mine, yours and everyonelse,if you dont like my posts theres an igore feature, with which Im only to happy to be aquainted with.
  9. I wondering why the "ha",is it because you dont think Mr Doolan is a very good choice of guest,or is the cause for such merriment the fact that Gjedde cant make this meeting due to injury.
  10. Dont worry, our official site will pull-out all the stops over the next 6 days, reduced admission, attributed quotes to all our officialls and a big announcement.
  11. As main team sponsor,no,but I do my little bit. You maybe right,if a main team sponsor and others arent found maybe we wont run atall.
  12. Like I posted earlier,I though Berwick wouldve done the necessary not to be riding next saturday, lets hope the missing fans turn out for the Final.
  13. Theres no doubt in Berwick running but what league seems to be the question.
  14. Your right but a wins a win,and as Berwick away wins are about as rare as hens teeth Im not about to start quibbling about 6pts.
  15. Thought Berwick wouldve done what was necessary to lose by the 12pts or whatever it was,but no,we have a Final to look forward to against Rye House.
  16. God alone only knows what will happen if this metting is off,and we still have to race Workington away in the PL,though it looks like this might become the fixture that never was.
  17. Your post is a good one,and this years summer weather has only made things worse.
  18. Not shooting you down, like I said earlier your suggestion mightve helped any number of clubs out this season.
  19. So we dare to put our opinion on here, its not excatly a crime,Woffinden is luck to be giving this wild card,on form alone.
  20. It wouldve come in handy for most teams this season giving the rain we have had,but as WJM points out if we have a real summer theres the prospect of having your stadium empty once every month.
  21. Troubled times ahead for the Monarchs, and as others have mentioned theres other clubs looking at their alternatives for the 2013 season,it might just be the PL will be looking very different come next March.
  22. The play-offs in the PL and EL have turned into a shambles thanks to the weather, this is probably the least worst decision. Anyway I consider Newcastle Diamonds to be Champions, they finished top with the most points, what more do you need to know.
