Berwick`s near impossible task was made all the harder as in the early heats there was an inability to make any decent starts and when that failed an inability to make any passes on what looked to be a very peculiar track where the home riders struggled, in the later races Berwick did at least make a fist of things but by then the meeting and tie was virtually over. Again Berwick didn't have to look far to find their share of bad luck with riders breaking down while in scoring positions etc but Redcar were way better and deserved their win. With a KOC exit Berwick`s target for the rest of the season is a battle not to finish bottom of the Championship table, thankfully they are getting a bit of assistance just at the minute.

Taken from Facebook. Newcastle Speedway has now been officially asked by the stadium to remove all speedway related items as soon as possible, which we will be adhering to. This is a timely reminder to any individual or consortium who may have aspirations to breathing new life into the Diamonds and keeping the club going to please consider your position without delay and contact the relevant people as soon as possible as were are in a critical section of Newcastle Speedway's long history. If there is a genuine lifeline it needs to be activated.

Berwick have certainly had some cruel luck this week, for tonight Aaron Summers, as guest is an equal for Leon flint so Berwick wont lose out much there. Seems that Etheridge is ready to ride tonight as well as Pijper, much will depend on their fitness as to how close Berwick get to clawing back the 12pys, personally I see it as to much even with a fully fit team so with a weakened team I see nothing other than Redcar going through. Perfect weather though.

Along with many other team managers and promotions, and to be honest who can blame them as the rules seem to change week to week and from club to club. -

Isn`t there an unwritten rule somewhere that Mr Barrie can do and say anything he wants, or maybe that's in his own head. Agree with you very unprofessional of him to use the language he did over the microphone, even in humour. -

No denying that Berwick were very unlucky last night not to win the meeting after Chris Harris`s clutch gave up the ghost, now to find Danny King suffered a puncture in the same race just compounds the bad luck, still never mind, you`ve got to give Poole credit fighting back from ten down to a draw. One or two iffy refereeing decisions to, I was surprised that Danny King received a warning at the start of Ht15 for moving when I saw no movement, maybe referee was just catching up with things as the same rider got away with a clear jump start in Ht3. All in all Berwick yet again failed to win a home meeting, their season is now dependant on making up the points against Redcar next Saturday. -
Congratulations to Redcar on their biggest home win of the season in the Championship. Weak link for Berwick in the No4 position again.
