The Cheese
Was Melnychuk the Ukrainian rider looking for a place over here last season? Looked like he'd be a solid option for someone if he was available.

How does it benefit British Speedway? It very nearly wasn't even on TV last night and even then behind a £30+ per month pay wall. We don't even get to see the national team in on track action in this country and the only connection it has with fans is through social media. I think you mean in the 2000s. We were the World Champions, plus silver and bronze medallists from the 70's right the way through to the late 80s. That was when it was 5-man teams. We have under the speedway of nations, two golds and two silvers. Fantastic achievements, but all in name, a pair's event. When it comes to the 5 man team event, we've not yet won. As for England's record in the pairs in the past. It's a fantastic record. 70s through to the late 80s, 7 Golds, 5 Silver and 2 Bronze. 👍
chun
Danny King is having a good season and is worth consideration if his form continues.

I'm struggling to understand how this benefits British Speedway, it garner's little to no media interest, they may ride around with Daily Star plastered on their arses but just doing a quick search now on their website and the last Speedway story was about Emma Jones and the one prior to that Linda Lusardi! They'll be shown twice this year on pay-TV if they're lucky and they're just bringing on the youngsters, meaning they often miss British club matches so they can gain international experience and then be poached by Polish clubs leaving us using journeymen guests or rider replacement in their absence! chun
I think Emma Jones showed a lot of promise on her debut. Confident and not overwrought with her interviews. Will never perhaps have the insight to ask probing questions but that’s not what she is there for. She is more about capturing the emotion of the moment…

She is more about capturing the emotion of the moment… Early days to tell but will she have the respect and be acceptance of the riders ? I was no big fan of Abbie but it was clear she was accepted like a little sister to the riders and had a good rapport with them,no doubt Emma is good looking and has some real stand out assets but watching her last night her rapport with the riders seemed a little fake, like I said early days to tell and obviously she is trying to forge a rapport in a sport she knows very little about, so time will tell but in the meantime she is a welcome bit of eye candy
chun
Abi was a very proficient operator but I found that her delivery grated on me somewhat. Whilst Emma is all white smiles and teapot **, I think she will grow into the role. She’s certainly a bird you wouldn’t kick out of bed n all.
