I haven't been calling him out or offering an opinion on here at all but I'm now curious as to why you think someone would be reticent to give their opinion to him directly - what would happen?

Nothing. He would listen to you , shake your hand and then let you go back to where you came. The point is that those  who complain the most are the least likely to even go to a speedway track .

That may well be a contributory factor ( he committed a crime and should be punished accordingly ) whilst you may have nothing but contempt for him just locking him up is obviously not the answer .It the easy simple answer  but neither beneficial to society or Jason ,IMO there is little or no support for  ex offenders .

Crime & Justice

The cost of incarcerating him and others could be channeled into support network to assist them to conform to the requirements needed to lead a law abiding life .I have met a number of  ex offenders  most come across as reasonable normal people ,they are  anonymous with regards to their criminal past .Jason is not he has public profile which means in someways his criminal past is public property , the simple fact is he's in a cycle and needs help to get out of it  .

More Chances than a Monopoly set.....

Sticking with the theme - after each chance he has gone straight to jail

The rules also say do not pass go and do not collect £200 🤔

I doubt any of you who are calling Garrity would have the b"llocks to say it to his face. You all hide behind your keyboards. He's been a very naughty boy more than once and has done his time. As I've said before you can call him all you want but as soon as he signs for your team and bangs in the points he'll be your hero all of a sudden.

Is he finished doing his time though .

No. He was arrested in April 2020 and his sentence was imprisonment for 7 years and 6 months. Taken from when he was arrested, his sentence will conclude in October 2027. He has been released on license but has breached that at least twice and been returned to prison then re-released.

And why do you think most people wouldn't say it to face?

Go on....have a guess...it might just make you realise why most people don't want him anywhere near the sport now.

For what it’s worth, my take is this.
He did a “Morally” and an “Actual” bad crime. Went to Prison & served some time. Our stupid system lets people out early etc. Said person is now able to earn a living. Let him earn a living. If he’s coming to your track, don’t pay to go-simple. Tell your promotion why you haven’t attended. If there is a massive crowd drop off when said rider is in town, leave it to the promoters to sort out. If it’s bad for business it won’t last long.

Will be a good signing for Poole 😜 will have a decent reduction on his average for being out of the sport for many years 🙃

No.  It's just that I can read.

Anyway, I don't want to mock the aflicted, so I'll just leave you there.

So you can read, pity you can't spell.

Or perhaps it's just another typo?

Speedway is a strange sport.

Garrity is naturally getting all kinds of negative press because of what he did, and rightly so.

The fact is, if he did come back and did well for a club, a lot of people would put his past to one side.

And, I suspect, a lot wouldn't.

Yes he committed a heinous crime and has now finished his time, but what about the crimes committed by a couples of Aussies and a Brit that was swept under the carpet with money in front of it.

Did they learn, have they ever been punished or continually berated.

They got found not guilty in court thats what.

The story doing the rounds at the time was whilst getting into a daft situation, it was a case of the girl consenting and then regretting it when sobering up. Comparing that with Garritys crimes is madness.

There have been many unsavoury characters in speedway over the years ,some were just never caught or prosecuted but over time it just gets forgotten about and the riders go on in their career

Correct, remember the stories about a certain Czech legend at Somerset back in their first PL days?

Love him or hate him,  jason turns up after many years not racing ( a few practice sessions maybe) at buxton and makes their whole team bar bowtell look like they can't ride a  bike.
