Yes very disappointing after last night, really thought we had a chance of the bonus point going to be difficult to get in playoffs now. DSC67 Posted yesterday at 09:40 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 09:40 PM Disappointing performance from the Berwick reserve pairing, you’re always going to struggle to win meetings when your bottom end get comprehensively out scored by the opponent

Interesting that Mr Dickson placed him at number 2 though rode Hagon at heat leader 3 at Glasgow, did Hagon no favours at all. Hamster00
Trigger should be in for Jack Smith based on that performance tonight, Smith hasn’t been the same since he was made permanent in the side and certainly struggles if he doesn’t gate. Wood is absolutely fine imo, paid 5 tonight and has routinely got above his average at home, you carry him away but most teams seem to have a reserve like that. The problem when you have a weakened lineup is that everyone has to pick up the slack, tonight only PK really did that out of the regular Bandits, Kemp looked uncomfortable and out of sorts and had his poorest home performance in a long time despite scoring 11 from his 6 rides he didn’t beat anyone of note. JJ will take time to settle in and unfortunately didn’t take to the track like he did last night, hopefully he’ll be better for it next week. Normski
Berwick reserves 5+1 Glasgow reserves 14+2 this is where meetings are won and lost. Track prep needs rectified not one drop of water on the track despite the dusty conditions. Quite impressesd with Ben Trigger who put in a good shift. Speaking to Glasgow fans before the meeting, they all thought we would win easy god knows what score would have been if Glasgow had been full strength. Next weekend are 2 must win fixtures if we are to have any aspirations about being in the playoffs.

Special mention to Ben Trigger certainly done his bit. A few of us decided to head down and we certainly didn’t see that happening with the choice we had off guests. Jeppesen looked a totally different rider to the one I watched last night , our reserves went a long way to securing the win after a super heat. Pleasantly surprised unexpected though as I honestly thought we had next to no chance without in reality three riders currently riding at heat leader level. allthegearbutnaeidea
Trigger in for Smith please. Shocking from Smith last night, I did fear Jeppesen might not take to Shielfield, he looked to be getting better as the meeting went on, hopefully the poor track hasn’t put him off. Special mention to Max Perry, he rides Shielfield very well for a two pointer and has been the ‘match winner’ twice this season. Great move by Howarth in the super heat to win it, but it felt inevitable.
Robinh88
Bought the stream for last night. Considering the absentees i thought it was a good meeting for the neutral. Both teams locked tight and some tasty races paticularly later on. I've read a few comments about track prep from last night? Thought the track was fine, nice to see a few lines out there for the riders to use. I've certainly seen a lot worse elsewhere this season. TheWellBehavedWorrall
I’m always surprised when I see criticism of Shielfield. It’s a track I love visiting and have done for 30+ years. I bought last night’s stream and thought it was a really good meeting; two teams battling it out and the racing amplified as the meeting went on. From a non-technical perspective, I’ve always felt like it’s a proper racers track. To navigate those long straights to your advantage and utilise that banking on the third and fourth bends takes a technically capable rider. All the best to the Bandits for the rest of the season. Once Morris arrives and Jeppesen familiarises himself with the track, I hope to see Berwick in the play-offs.

Both have upped their averages, but would still look like Tigers weak link. Last night was a impressive by them, Tigers fans will be delighted, but Bandits fans would've been expecting Smith to have the better of them. While play-offs are still possible, I'd give Trigger a shot.
TheWellBehavedWorrall
Smith done well at Ashfield on Friday night, to be fair. Hodder and Perry have been fantastic this season. We literally couldn’t ask for more. Two teenagers with that little bit more pressure on their young shoulders due to our team building approach, but they’ve literally given 110% in every single race. They’ve had some tough meetings - inevitably so - but meetings like last night’s shows how resilient they both are.
