I've also been told his injury has coincided with a 28-day ban, although so much has been said about his situation that I'm not really sure what to believe at this point.

The SCB usually announce any bans, so I wouldn't believe it unless they've posted about it.

His 2025 average is below every one of the Comets, can't see how he would strengthen the team.

Really the way the Workington riders are riding ?

I agree Workington are poor, I agree Workington should look to strengthen up. But that doesn't mean sign a rider who's been going worse than your current 7.

Aston has/had talent but seems to have lost confidence or something else going on, I can remember when he disappeared !!!  from worky a couple of years ago .  At the moment needs time to get things together then start slowly,  not riding in premiership and cut down on trips abroad,  until he gets his mojo back.

Even if Bowes is due to miss a lot of matches riding in Poland, I wouldn't be in a rush to replace him, they're probably stronger when he's not there.

Get a 5.00 guest when he's averaging below that or r/r of Zischke Etheridge & 2 rides from Hook / Foord.

Also the longer it takes him to get a new average, the longer Hook stays at reserve, which benefits the team.

Speedway can be a strange sport when injuries / missing riders can strengthen a team and there can be no advantage to making replacements when a rider is out for the season.

bowes looks like he has potential

but if hes going to be going poland most weekends cant see him being long term option

not sure how the asset thingy is recently but if they can get him past the period  when he becomes a asset then if anyone available maybe make change

They have quietly done away with the asset system, riders are now classed as self employed ,loan fees are no longer applied

That will be a financial issue for several clubs who got money from loaning out several riders who were on the books

I think Poole lose out most as they had the biggest asset pool, although probably most from their premiership

Are you sure you have the correct weekend, as nothing listed on the dirt track riders website, they are the ones who ran the event at the end of April

Night and day from Speedway. Loads of willing participants who pay to ride and are ready to race ahead of time. Might not be quite as entertaining but certainly a stronger operating model.

To be fair there used to be a good amount of amateur speedway meetings that would take place up and down the country but they have been weaseled down one by one.

Think one of the biggest problems is speedway machinery. Even at amateur level it's either expensive especially to maintain or dreadfully unreliable. If you've a product that's more or less moto cross based machinery, most will do season after season with reasonably priced routine maintenance.
